I was thinking...

JRam:Mookie::Mookie:Trout

I don't actually believe there's a specific dollar cutoff for this, but Mookie's cards can be pricey, but still "cheap" for his achievement/ability/future outlook.

JRam is pretty cheap, and playing in Cleveland doesn't help his visibility.

Mookie '14 TCU Gold Refractor PSA-10: $4,051 (auction): https://ebay.com/itm/387018590722

JRam '14 TCU Gold Refractor PSA-10: $1,141 (auction) last August.

---

Mookie '14 Update PSA-10: $130-175 range lately

Trout '11 Update PSA-10: $780-$830 range lately.
(Trout pop about 1,000 higher)

---

If you're priced out of Trout or looking for alternatives, there's Mookie.

I'll start. I'm no Guardians fan but Jose Ramirez is criminally undervalued. Patch autos #/5 from Topps Dynasty are selling for under $180. Guy never gets injured, and is a Top 100 player all time by WAR to the age-31 season.

I think he's a no-doubt HOFer, but would really solidify if the Guardians can do some playoff winning.
While I agree with Ramirez, I think his stuff suffers a bit because he signs a TON of stuff. Virtually every Topps release. His Heritage, Finest, and Chrome RC autos are not cheap.

JRam has gone up in prices. Over a few years I bought/sold his Chrome Auto RC and it was around $50-$75 at first, jumped to $100 and not it is closer to $150.

He should be higher but being in Cleveland hurts but if he wins a WS or MVP at some point then it will help his prices get up.

To the OPs point of guys being more appreciated in the 80’s or 90’s, Marcus Semien and Andrés Giménez.

Default Who is the best active MLB player you can't believe has card prices this low?

In the I had no idea department, Kwan is hitting .400!
184 ABs is nothing to sneeze at either. Wow

I’ve always thought Salvador Perez, if anyone even considered him. With the Royals doing good this year maybe he’s getting more attention. Guess it’s a combination of team and being a catcher. His Bowman Chrome and Topps rookie seems really cheap.

Mookie is not cheap, however way more reasonable than others with less production.

Maybe I misunderstood "this low," but that was kind of my point.

He's in the Trout/Shohei tier from a baseball perspective, but is significantly cheaper than them.

Agree! I didn't want to say it and come off as a homer, even though I am.

He's probably top 3 MVP candidate for this year so far and if he gets hot or Ohtani slips a bit he's got the inside track on his 3rd MVP.

.

The people talking about Machado being undervalued I mean he's a fine player but a lot of his value is defensively and that's almost never something the hobby puts much credence in.

He has a career .822 OPS which is fine but definitely not elite. He's only led the league in one offensive state in his 13 year career which was doubles in 2013.

He also seems to be on a decline with a .782 OPS last year and .664 so far this year.

In 3 years everyone will agree the answer was Kyle Tucker when he's accumulated over 40 WAR by age 30.

Pretty much any player that isn't an MVP candidate and has a good bit of their value from defensive performance and/or positional value is underrated. Lindor, Adley, Machado, even Ramirez would fall into that category. Works historically too.

I would say anyone who is not a hobby darling but has a chance to be a HOFer, eg, Lindor, Correa, Machado. Some of the others mentioned here fit that criteria, Ramirez, Goldschmidt.

William Contreras is quietly getting my attention in Milwaukee. He's among the top NL catchers and nobody seems to have noticed.

It would be nice for the responders to name the player and the type of cards they are referring to.
I would go with 2008 Bryce Harper USA's especially the Patch Auto /50. Mind boggling how these have not skyrocketed at this point.

Yordan.
.956 OPS (MILB), 1.067 OPS, .958 OPS, .877 OPS, 1.019 OPS, .990 OPS, .877 OPS
ROY, Title & Career .578 SLG & .963 OPS

He's a victim of the Supply/Demand equation with all of his cards coming out during the boom but aside from Ohtani & Judge his numbers stand above everyone else. It'll take time to weather the Supply of his RC cards til they become a little more rare, just like with 2001 Pujols & Ichiro but his prices to me are clearly the cheapest relative to performance and accomplishments.
