There are others in this thread constantly boasting about about how much money they make from constant flips and reallocation into other cards etc etc that don't really focus on anything except themselves their profits etc

Do you ever address them about this?

While I sense you are trying to rally for certain folks here, this comment is a complete joke and should be addressed to the children you are conveniently not mentioning

Even though I personally have no interest in the card, I do agree that it does have importance.

Like it or not, it's a licensed MJ card from his rookie year. It absolutely should have value and continue to have value.

But lots of things have value. Lots of cards, comics, freaking video games, stocks, coins, real estate, etc. etc. etc.

You can't have everything that's valuable... and if you can, then you're so wealthy it doesn't matter to you.

So. You make your choices. You choose your lanes based on how you want to spend your money.

If you want to invest in this card because you think it's important, go right ahead. But don't try to act superior over others who don't want it and say we "missed out." I guarantee you most if not all of us are doing just fine with our cards. Especially those of us who were in it long before covid.

My issues with the card are purely collecting based. I just don't like it. I do not want it in my collection. And I don't trust the sale that sparked this thread. It's drowning in red flags.

But yes. The card should absolutely have value.
You completely took what I stated out of context

Actually the point of what I said is to collect what YOU believe in. The problem again is there is way too much of a sheep herd mentality where as the 101 has been trending higher and "NOW" suddenly it's becoming noticed because of PRICE

The Star 101 is a different animal because there's a long story behind it's history. A history of card manufacturing and then of misinformation and a failed bias which is why newer collectors then began questioning why it is not MJs true Rookie Card

Hey man while I love 90s MJs parallels and have hundreds of them i think certain ones are specifically pursued to corner, pump, and dump. Why I'm not a PMG fan.

It's ok for people to not like whatever they wish but unfortunately in this hobby peoples perception seems to change all at once when certain cards sell high

Most of my perception of what MJs I love was already cemented in the 90s when I began collecting MJ

Star 101 was a grail for me then and is now

The funny thing is that savy collectors become the best investors by default. And I'm grateful for the reward for something I began a long time ago. Even moreso for a card that was blatantly ignored by the hobby that I always believed is becoming a hobby darling with new collectors who are truly free from years of misguided bias

And for the other misinformants in this thread accusing me of pumping the Star 101 get your facts straight

See my screen name and join date

Way before PSA even graded Star so I'm not sure what the hell these clowns are talking about

Plenty of posts here, however I think a poll will define the winner of this face-off; the purpose of the thread topic.

Unfortunately, “herd mentality” will be used to discredit any poll that fleer 57 wins.

Also financial interest might drive comments and poll results. If you own a Star, then you call that card the first licensed RC. On the other hand, if you own a few Fleer RCs, then you pump the Fleer and trash the Star.

Let's be real, you are one of the main instigators. Along with Hellcat.

The insecurity is wild.

Just look at your kard, drool and enjoy. Nobody else has to play along with you.

Good for you I hope you really needed the money. It makes no sense to sell the card as it's rising day after day, week after week and month over month. One of the only cards in the market that's nuclear right now.

Well I own both the Fleer and the star 101 so I am not being bias here at all....I can say that in the 1990s up until recently nobody wanted the Star Rookie, it has just been recently that this card has garnered huge demand, is that demand natural or being pumped I don’t know but it sure smells like its being pumped.

Would be more interesting to know how many he owned a few months before the announcement compared to how many he owned when they announced it.

When does PSA make a power move and put a "RC" logo on their slabs so they define what a RC is?

They already have their set registry. You just have to look there for the rookie cards of Hall of Fame players like Michael Jordan.

The star has been sought after for a long time. The fleer is more popular, plentiful, and cheaper but saying that the star has only had recent demand possibly from pumping is false.
