January was my highest sales month in the since early 2023 ... definitely saw a spike over the few days of bad weather most of the country experienced in the middle of the month.

Same here, and I'm already half of my January sales 6 days into February...

Had something weird happen on a card I was selling this week. It was a $1K+ card that a UK buyer was interested in, but was told that "this seller doesn't ship to your location" even though I enabled international shipping. Is it because the authentication program doesn't ship there?

Was trying to figure out a work around, and can list the item as a toy instead with a different descripton so they can buy it. Would that get flagged by the system at all?

If you have international shipping enabled, you have to set the rate and choose the carrier. Its when you turn off international shipping that buyers can be routed through ebays global shipping program. (This is assuming I am understanding you correctly)

I had a good January as well. So far in February I'm about 2/3 of my daily average from January. My $/package is about 2/3 of January, so it's easy to see where the shortfall is coming from.

Just in case premium1981 isn't understanding you correctly, my suggestion would be to make sure you are using the global shipping program.

My thoughts exactly. There is no way I would ship internationally myself. You are asking for issues and risk that just are not necessary. Especially now. They just recently changed the program to where international buyers can buy multiple items in the same transaction from the same seller. That has been a game changer for both the buyer and seller. Last month I added close to $1k in additional sales, mostly from Canada, that I would not have gotten previously. I had a few different buyers buying bulk cards that they just didn't have an affordable option to purchase before. Stocking up on their Blue Jays cards.

EDIT - I will add too, that the seller protection is unmatched. A couple of months ago I had a Canadian buyer want to send back a $50 card after they received it. I honestly do not even remember the reason why. When they opened the return, ebay stepped in, refunded them and closed the case. I did nothing, and was out nothing. A+ for sure. Ebay also removed bad feedback from someone who complained about how long it took to arrive. Can't ask for much more than that.

Even outside the program if you ship in your stated handling time and tge feedback is for slow shipping ebay will remove it.

Similar situation here with a card that arrived damaged.

I had my biggest month ever in January 2024, breaking my previous highest month sales by more than $3k. February so far has been slower, I've had decent days but it definitely has slowed down compared to January for me.

I've sold 2 items this month and 6 this year. So yes, it's slow.

Oh I know. I try to list 5-10 items a day. I know 60 per week is nothing compared to people that like thousands a week. But it just takes so long to list (about 5 minutes per card to comp sales, scan, edit, download to computer, upload to eBay, write out the description, etc). I wish there were faster ways to do it.

And then you see stuff just there for months with no action despite being lower than all other comps. So it makes it where you don't even want to take that 5 minutes per card to do all the work. So I may go a couple of weeks without listing something out of frustration. But I realize that's part of the gig.

5 minutes a card is way to long.

If items are sitting you need to end and relist them. Just letting them sit you are killing your search ranking on all your items. Just ending and relisting causes them to refresh

Do you use the relist option? Or sell similar option? I was told to do the sell similar option. And I'm thinking about maybe ending the all and relisting tomorrow night when everyone's in front of their TV in the recliner watching the Super Bowl.

And yes, I just have a flatbed scanner. Can scan 6 cards at a time (9 if in pages). But it does take a while to do all that work. I've gotten a little faster now becuase I just copy the title into the body of the listing.

Had a great January, but the first 10 days of Feb have been extremely slow. It's weird, really. Ebbs and flows, I guess.

Same for me…record January and now it’s stalled.

My suggestion would be to try and list 4-9 items a day and take that extra 5 minutes and apply it to refreshing your listings. Do 3% of your listed items a day rather than all at once. This turns out to be one of the most important things to boost sales.

Another suggestion would be to try the Microsoft Lens app for your phone instead of a scanner. For me it worked out to be slightly faster with significantly better quality. It also leaves more flexibility in how many items I scan at a time.

Lastly, sell similar was a huge find for me. I don't use other sellers listings because I have a particular format I follow, but if I need to list a Blue Refractor and I've got a Green of the same card, it's as simple as finding the card (can be in drafts, active, or orders), hitting sell similar, changing the one word, the serial #, and the photo. Sometimes it's a different card # or different year or a different player from the same set and that takes a little longer, but still much faster than making a new listing.

For me it takes about 3 minutes per listing on average. That counts opening the package, leaving feedback, snapping the photo(s), transferring from phone to computer, and making the listing. Captain Obvious says new listings take a little longer, if it's something similar to what I already have then it's quicker.
