Sorry, couldn’t find an answer in the first two or 3 pages in the forum. I’m sure someone here knows. I’m a basketball card guy myself but my 10 yo is all about baseball. I know the odds are horrible that you’ll hit one of the debut patches. Are they even in the TC update value boxes or hobby only? Has Topps announced what product will contain the callups from after May?

According to the odds on Topps website, the rookie debut patches can be found one in roughly ever 42,000 or one in every 56,000 blast boxes (I'm not sure what EA vs SE means on their odds sheet). So it is possible, but way less likely than the odds for the hobby SKUs, which are incredibly long odds themselves.

There's a guy on Twitter who's been tracking them, and I think at least a couple found so far have come from retail blasters. P
There's a cutoff date every year, no one knows when it will be though it's usually the day of or day before a highly anticipated prospect got called up. When Topps Now stops tagging people with the RC logo and starts using the "Call-up" logo, that's the day. From that point on, no rookies who debuted that year will be on a card unless there's a very short overlapping window (like 2019 with Yordan and Bowman Platinum) or they make a mistake in some way (like the 21 Bowman's Best Wander and co.). |

Thanks everyone. That was helpful. Maybe it will be a super lucky Christmas for my 10 yo.
