I have been thinking of getting a box or two of this, pretty new back to collecting baseball. I see last year's hobby box prices are usually a good bit cheaper. There any difference between pulls in 2022 and 2023 or just people clearing old stock?

Also I saw someone mention high number relating to boxes, what does that mean?

Thanks!

2022 box prices are discounted because people have moved on to the newest crop of RC's. This hobby has a very very short attention span. Personally I feel right now Heritage High Number is an absolute steal just for the potential pull a big Julio or Witt parallel.

High number is basically Heritages version of Topps Update where the hottest RC's that were called up after the start of the season can usually be found.

Just buy the single cards you’re looking for. As much fun as opening packs is (was), it’s a losing proposition these days with ridiculous box costs and ridiculous print runs

Bought 4 cases at the National to redeem silver packs. Opened one case and pulled a gold refractor Grissom. I have not done that from Heritage since 2016. Also pulled a black chrome Acuna and Adley deckle auto. Still have 3 cases and wondering what to do.

For 2022 Heritage especially High Number while the price is really tempting at $57 and some change at this point almost all of the low numbered parallels and SSP variations have been hit. Yes you can still get base RC's of Julio and Witt and if they gem you've paid fir the box but from my experience at least PSA is really hard on 2022 Heritage. I subbed a ton of Julio Variations and all but 1 came back a 9. Pretty sure the black backs are what is holding the gem rates down. So while at $57 it's a fun rip don't go into it expecting to still hit $100 + cards or Red Autos of the top Rc's. Same for 2023 although maybe just maybe the odds are a little better still because of the deep class of good Rc's.

Yeah, prices were in the high range with the redemption packs available so about $960 per case.

Never have been into Heritage. Picked up a pack here and there over the years. But with all this other product, like Bowman Chrome, coming out that just feels like a huge rip off, Heritage has peaked my interest. For someone looking to actually grab some wax for the first time, would you suggest grabbing a 2023 box or grabbing 2022 HHN?

If going for bang for your buck, 2022 HHN can't be beat at $660/case. Just be warned - it's a 200 card base set, so you will be seeing the same guys in every box.

My opinion only - the RC class in 2023 is much stronger than ‘22 High. I’d put my money into the former

A case of HNN is a bit excessive. Imo just grab a couple boxes of HNN and stick to "low" heritage or minor league if you want to splurge on a case. Throw a game on tv, make a drink, and just enjoy the rip. My 4 boxes of 2022 HNN were pretty lucky with near perfect collation, hits as follows:

Andrew McCutchen Color Swap
Cody Bellinger Image Variation
Aaron Hicks Chrome /999
Bobby Witt Jr Chrome Refractor /673
Jhoan Duran Chrome Refractor /673
Kole Calhoun Gold Refractor /5
Emmanuel Rivera Real One Auto
JT Realmuto Real One Auto
Nolan Ryan All Aboard! Relic /25
Giancarlo Stanton Clubhouse Collection Relic

1974 Texas Rangers Team Card buyback
Tom Seaver oversized boxtopper
Ron Santo oversized boxtopper
Tony Oliva Pinups

I have done 3 cases of 2022 Heritage High Number and 2 cases of 2023 Heritage. I had way more fun with the 2023 Heritage. It seemed like every box had at least 2 special cards other than the auto or relic hit. Can't say the same about 2022 Heritage High, that stuff is super watered down.

I haven't opened any 2023 heritage but opened a few cases of 2022 heritage and high series. I like heritage high more. Less print run, you usually get 4-5 autos per case as compared to 2-4 for regular, and better chances of getting paralles. Only downfall of high is the lack of stars but with a good rc crop, it's a good buy with 2022 heritage high.

I think my local WM has 2022 blasters on clearance for $19. Worth picking up blasters for that price?

The rookie class in 2023 is certainly larger with more good names however I don’t believe any of them have the ceiling JRod does.

I’ve opened a handful of cases of both and found them to be very similar. One auto/relic, one chrome, one variation per box.

It is kinda crazy there's 3 ROY winners (Henderson, Carroll, MHII), 3 ROY runner ups (Rutschman and the 2 in 2023), and the JRod (and BWjr) gold cup in 2023. All 8 have autos and 7 have chrome cards, that's a pretty strong checklist.

Also no one else is allowed to buy 1974 stamps on ebay until I complete a full red set, thanks.
