Baby face has nothing to do with whether they are smiling. Holliday has the big puffy red cheeks..he certainly has a baby face.
Baby face is puffy, limited visible bone structure, red cheeks helps.

The kid is 19 years old batting .331 in A+, what more do you want?

I guess it depends on your view of babies - I view infants as happy smiling ones, though I understand if some may view them as grumpy chubsters, lol.

So I will refer to Jackson as a happy baby face for now.

Not really? Baseball prospects do this more frequently then you think

Listen to what you just said: "Two week regression". How can two weeks be considered a regression? Baseball is a sport full of rough weeks. Even the best players have bad weeks or months. Two weeks is not a good enough sample size. You cant expect a 19 year old kid to bat .600 through the minors without struggling whatsoever.

Especially if that 19 year old kid has a happy baby face!

Prospects are in the minors to DEVELOP... not accumulate stats. You have no idea what Jackson and the O's have planned or are currently working on.
Everything about Holliday to this point is very positive.

I know people want instant results now a days but my god didn't know we were jumping off prospects after two weeks!

Truth is - we won’t know if he REALLY makes it big in the Bigs until around 2035.

This your first season following baseball, pal?

Welcome to the great game of baseball. If there weren't slumps, everyone would bat .350+

And please provide me the list of hitters (drafted out of HS) who have simply been at Hi A by May (the year after they were drafted). Putting together that list may help you understand some things.

Randy Arozarena is in the middle of a two week slide. do we negate his entire season now? .286/.392/.484 slash with 11 home runs and 7 steals including the slide.

two weeks is not a long time to regress. the season is 162 and a veritable marathon. two weeks is merely a sprint, imo.

A baby face at age 19 is a plus for a baseball prospect... If you have access to Perfectgame.org you can see that Holliday was not one of those guys who was full-grown when he was 13 (he was 5-7). And he is still a young-looking 19. Contrast that with the kind of player who already looked like a man at 13 (there are a lot of those in youth baseball), and has no kind of baby face at 19 -- which one is more likely to still have a lot of potential for growth, the one who's had 6 years to get used to his full-grown body, or the one who is less physically mature at the same age and still getting used to it?

I know what you mean, but turning out as good as Gregg Jeffries is far from a bad outcome for a top pick… .289 / .344 / .421 slash line over 13 seasons with a 19.5 WAR ain’t too shabby. However with former #1 picks Correa, Harper, Cole, Adley, and even Strasburg make us forget about the Appel, Aiken, Moniek, Beckham outcomes that exist.
