All Wander cards tanked big time... BB21 are down no more than the rest... and actually the refractors and atomics have held up much better than his 2022 cards

The base BB50s go for more than 2022 base Wander 215s. I remember when there was some conversation around that.

Yep... and I've been watching an Atomic PSA10 on auction right now... had hoped I could scoop it for <$100, and its over $150 now... these were in the $200 range when they were hot last year, so some cards have come down very little vs. a year ago

The base BB should easily outperform base S1. Production isn't close. If I recall the BB21 math correctly...

Base < 17,000
Refractor < 6,000
Atomic < 500

I'd hope so at over one million base topps in circulation, no?
Not surprised all Wanders have sagged with the glut of his RC logo cards still releasing and his injury plagued underwhelming season. That said regardless of my stance(don't care) if he rebounds nicely the BB50 has a lot more room to run than his dang ol base Topps RC logo card.
Flagship bass is dead. Looks like Jrod us44s bring $3-5 now with update at a fraction of the humongous s1 PRs.

Wow, they printed A LOT of BB21.

Honestly, I thought prices were weak chiefly due to the fact that it's a prospect card (same as JRod, Witt, Torkelson, etc). But the high print-run doesn't help and is likely a contributing factor too.

Good to know.

Agreed.

Which made the argument that Topps #215 would be more expensive than BB50 foolish.

17,000 base is a "a lot"?

I have about 300 of those 17,000 and even more JRod base.

I look forward to the paradigm shift when someone from 21BB gets a couple of MVPs and a WS and people search for "best Julio Rodriguez rookie card" and see this-

Yes, 17k base is a lot when there's little-to-no demand for the card/product.

It also doesn't help that it's not a RC either.

It could happen. But I am nervous for this approach to work. Spreading the gospel of BB21 in the mean time will have to do.

I'm content saying nothing and waiting to see. I bought several BB21 JRod autos, graded a few, and sold them all for nice gains. Selling a few more BB JRods early in the season til I get my total outlay to near zero for BB21, then sit back and wait. I'm hedging, for sure.

BB21 did provide some good pump-and-dump opportunities. With how hard some (e.g., BigSeph) are still pumping it, there might be some future opportunities too.

The way you did it is the best, not just for BB21 but for any given cards/product. Being into something for "$0" is a great feeling as you can sit back and ride out any waves and enjoy the cards/product.

Which also stands for Rookie Card. Just because it's an abbreviation doesn't change what it is.

Topps has destroyed the RC Logo.

Some of them are already quite angry because they're holding heavy bags.

I would submit that another way to see what the market actually thinks is to compare sales on 2020 Bowman’s Best cards to 2021 BB for the same player. For example, in general:

-raw ungraded 2020 BB Wanders seem to be going for $1-3, vs.
-raw ungraded 2021 BB Wanders seem to be going for $7-10.

-raw ungraded 2020 BB Julios seem to be going for $3-5, vs.
-raw ungraded 2021 BB Julios seem to be going for $10-15.

Why would a later ‘prospect’ card be consistently selling for 2-3 times more than an earlier one?

That can't be true, because if you have paid any attention to the 2022 market, the rookie logo cards are absolutely being treated no differently than traditional rookie cards of previous years. There is no valid argument at all that BB21, even if you consider them true rookie cards, had any negative effect on 2022. That's disingenuous.

Easy, because a small group of people in this thread are buying them all at inflated prices.
