Default What are the "rare" junk era cards?

On the topic of scarce promo-related cards, although not strictly a promo...... in 1992 Marvel Masterpieces there was a set of like 4 X-Plosion Scratch off cards that I have searched forever for and have never come across (I cant even find a picture of one). But apparently they look like the regular card on front, and the backs have contest rules/scratch off. Those might be the rarest 90s marvel related cards.

Some other examples from Marvel, although not all within OP's 1993 cutoff (although still roughly junk era),

1992 Impel X-men Jim Lee autos (5 characters, prob ~400 to 500 of each character)

1992 Impel X-men Nelsonic parallel (says nelsonic on back- the watch company)- some specific characters. If you are searching for one particular character, you could be waiting a lonnnnng time.

1995 Masterpieces Mirage (probably a few thousand made, but still relatively scarce)

1996 Marvel Onslaught Autographs (Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Stan Lee, nslists says just 100 copies of each).

While the above do have 100 to a few thousand existing, that is comparatively rare for 90s.

There were also some scarce cards in a 1994 Godzilla set mentioned in a thread recently on here- I dont know much about them

I've never seen them either and I've been looking for almost 30 years. They are listed in PCE but I don't know what Todd Jordan's source(s) was. I can guarantee you that Todd wouldn't have listed it in the book if he hadn't seen one himself.

I am almost positive I saw a picture of one on the internet about a decade ago (of course I have didnt think to save it, nor do I remember where it was online, probably long gone). My memory of what it looked like is vague, but the image in my head is where the comic cover is on regular 92 MM backs it was a large area and little circles of gray scratch offs. It is possible it's a false memory Im just imagining, but Im pretty sure I saw it.

This is a testament to how rare the things are.....trying to remember a single picture of one....just a picture!

Some of the stickers in Brockum's 1991 set "RockCards" are scarce and short-printed. See Allender's page on the set for details.

It's not super easy to put together a set of DC Comics Backing Board cards.

Some of the early Comic Images sets are getting scarce, especially compared to the overproduced later artist sets.

There are some very tough chase cards associated with some of the Desert Shield/Desert Storm sets -- the higher-level Norman Schwarzkopf cards from Pacific's Operation Desert Shield set, for example.
