Ideally, individuals wouldn't have to flip to participate in the hobby. But times have changed, the hobby has evolved from pre-pandemic times and card/wax prices are a lot higher. While some are content with sitting on the sideline and waiting it out (for however long it may be), others are willing to adjust to current times to continue participating in the hobby they love. I'm one of the latter individuals.

You're a smart guy, one can easily deduce that from your past posts. You also reside in LA (high COL) too. Based on this information, I'd like to assume that your annual salary is good enough for you to participate in the hobby they way you like (not having to flip to fuel your hobby). That's awesome that it works for you but it's not the case for many others.
Though I joked about the design, I still hope whoever bought logofractor has good fortune with it since I know all too well the feeling of being stuck with collectibles that turned out to be duds (I'm sure that won't be the case here). Now I only buy what I like so that if it turns out to be not so great investment wise, I'm not left holding the bag for something I don't actually want.

If I miss something awesome that I initially passed on, I may have POMO for a minute but of course there's always more stuff to buy down the road. With that in mind, I almost never go back and pick up anything I missed. Since I don't have the budget to freely buy whatever I have my eye on either, I end up skipping a lot of products. It's not much of a collecting strategy but it definitely keeps the spending down.

If anyone is trying to complete the set and want to trade or I would also buy, I need the following cards to complete a set:

6, 26, 47, 55, 73, 74, 77, 81, 92, 94

Other possibilities:

- Pacmeyer has a propensity to cry out loud
- Pacmeyer lives in a home with imposingly tall columns

I had so much fun with the Logofractor boxes that I selfishly hope Sonic is a similar format but different design. That or we see one more big restock of Logofractor.

I got my tracking numbers on Saturday and they've moved about 200 miles since then. It's going to be a while, lol.

I'm in the same boat pacmeyer. Actually, I've been buying earlier unopened that I think has potential.

Yes - I was told the same thing when I called the NYC store. Gone, and if they get anymore (that they are not expecting) there is a long list of people who didn't get them who they will call.

Why does one need to become a flipper to continue to enjoy the hobby you love?

How about, make a good income at your regular job and afford to buy anything you feel comfortable buying?

Or is the flipping what the the hobby is to you?

So you are ok people working a regular job like you, but you aren't ok with people working in the card industry as their job? Is that what work is to you? 9-5 answering to someone, or multiple people every day? You may choose to not "flip" for a living, but why hate on those who do? Wouldn't it irk you if people hated on you for what you do for a living? Let people live their life however they choose doing whatever makes them happy.

You would put me into the "flipper" bucket but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am not a sneaker-boi either. I made it to the top of the "real job" game, and I am much happier doing this now. I make more money, I have a better collection, and my stress is gone. Stop talking down to people just because you choose to make a living in a different way.

We get it, you hate the hobby is expensive. You hate it when anyone takes a $100 bill in the hobby and makes it into $150. We get it. You have sang this song for a very long time. We all know the words to it.

It is impossible to flip for a living, it’s usually a side gig.

I’ve got no problem with guys who buy a well-valued product for $50, and make a little lunch money by selling the boxes for $100 - that’s awesome.

The main problem I have is with idiots paying $1000 for topps chrome jumbo boxes presale thinking they are going to get rich investing in that crap. Same with the idiots who planned to flip their prizm wwe boxes after buying in at $1200 thinking they were gonna get rich.

My ire was directed at the flipper boi mentality that lost sight of reality in way overpaying for items with the intention of making even more.

I enjoy watching these bois fall flat on their faces.

I’ve got no problem with flippers as long as they don’t fuel their marketing pumps to irrational prices and expectations. Of course that is in the eye of the beholder, but if you want to be one of those lemmings, you have every right to do so.

Just as I have every right to watch those lemmings fall flat on their faces.

A) It isn't impossible to make a living doing this. Many have done it, and many are doing it. You just have to be good at it. Maybe you don't have that knowledge, and that is what fuels your distain for it? The random people jumping in don't stand a chance. I agree.

B) The ones you say your ire is directed to are going to wash out on their own.

1. You are right, If you are a single male with no debt and pay no taxes, you could probably try pretty hard and get by with flipping. It was really easy during the pandemic. But you aren’t going yo be able to make $100,000 annually and consistently year after year and support a wife and three children doing that for a living.

2. Many flippers bois have already been washed out, just hoping they are exterminated completely. I guess letting a few survive would be good for entertainment.
