anyone else been sensing that with these bulk orders, PSA has been giving out a lot fewer PSA 10s, and when they do give a 10, it is usually to a smaller valued card. Give the card the grade it deserves and stop worrying about the value of the card. If they are trying to make people submit cards at a higher sub price rather than them having to spend time researching values, maybe they just shouldn't worry so much about values. I think all any of us want is accurate grades -- no politics, just give the card the grade it warrants. It gets nauseating with some of these orders how obvious this behavior is...many people, including me, are going to be cracking and resubbing many of these cards that deserve to be in a 10 holder. I know for myself, this stack of cards to resub keeps growing....

Had a package delivered to you guys yesterday with a card for consignment and 2 grading subs - I received the confirmation about the consignment but nothing as of now for the grading sub (Regular & Express), just making sure it is normal
for the grading sub not showing up yet on the website?

Yea we have nearly 8000 cards to process for grading this week (sorta like the good ole days) and our process now is a lot more detailed. I wouldn’t be concerned unless you don’t hear something before the weekend.

Honestly everyone I've seen getting an old bulk in the last month+ has gotten brutal results.

Like super brutal.

The complete opposite of what I'm seeing from their economy option.

Bulk 2021.60 (2018+ ultra modern)

63 cards (49/63=77.8% gem)
Of the 63, 56 were mine, 7 were my friend's (47/56=83.9% gem on my cards)
Of my 56, 4 I knew would not gem when I sent them (47/52=90.3% gem on my cards I expected to gem)

Got lucky with the grader, I guess.

This has been my experience in my final 4/5 old bulk subs.
Low cost to grade but wow, just terrible results for me

We won’t be sending in any orders until the week after the national. We will be doing an on site sub at the national to get back at the end of the show.

At this point it is too late. We've removed the option from the website as well. My team needs to enter all the cards that we already got in before we head down on Tuesday.

yeah, like I have said in other places, I get the feeling they were "instructed" to go a bit tougher on those bulk orders that caused the huge backlog...kinda sucks as all we ask for is honest grading...I am not consigning many cards as I want to get them back and see them and determine which ones I will be resubbing...it shouldn't matter what price we sent them in at -- look at the card and give it the grade it deserves, not one grade lower because Jordan or Brady may be the player on the front of the card

yeah, ultra modern and shiny stuff not affected so much...it's the cards from the early 2000s or 90's that they have been very hesitant to give cards their honest grade especially if a mega star is on the front of the card

Total July special surpassed 8000 cards.

If you want to drop off cards at the national for before end of show completion we will be taking those as well. Working on a deal for them if you consign the cards afterwards.

In my experience reviewing subs this is nonsense. The problem is that towards the end people were throwing EVERY card they could find, specifically of superstars in the 90’s in thinking it was a gold mine. Now those subs are coming back with lower grades. Most of those people have no idea what they are looking for and the cards got the grades they deserve.


When pricing for grading is too cheap and you can make money with 9’s you will get worse grades and people will say it’s PSA being harder but in reality it’s submitters being more lenient on what they send.

When pricing for grading is higher you will see higher grades because people are more picky with what they send but people will say PSA is handing out 10’s but in reality it’s just people being smarter with what they send.

For some reason it always is blamed on PSA instead of people taking responsibility for what they send.

Btw, I agree there are outlier submissions but few and far between.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I doubt your voice outweighs the hundreds of experienced collectors, like myself, who have experienced much different grades than we have seen in the past. Just hop onto the PSA forum and go to the Grade Poppage Thread. Many experienced collectors who have been submitting for 10 to 20 years, people who look over their cards under good lighting, magnification, etc...corners, surface, edges, centering, on front and back...people with orders where nearly every card is graded 1 grade lower. There can't be this many people who are wrong. You maybe just haven't seen it as much because a lot of the cards people submit to you are ultra modern and the overly-stringent grading doesn't seem to have affected that portion of the market.
