Eh, maybe individual players have been streaky but the offense put up 6, 12, 5, and 6 runs against Boston. That should be more than enough.

Yes, if not for the crappy pitching as of late.

They have a couple of breakout guys right now but their whole roster has been decimated by injuries. Reminds me of the 2018/2019 Yankees.

Here is a vision or a nightmare I picture in my head.

The year is 2095 and it’s been 86 years since the Yankees last World Series title I have been long dead but my great grandkids ask their father how could anyone root for this team, his only answer was it wasn’t always that way.

Now in looking back being a Red Sox fan from 1919 to 2003 is a nightmare that already happened for them, and like I said the longest drought for the Yankees franchise since 1903 to present is 19 years so unless you died relatively young you have seen the Yankees win a World Series.

Okay I am done just putting things in perspective to make me feel better.

Besides the huge championship advantage the Yankees hold over the Red Sox, there's also this all-time regular season head to head record:

Yankees 1,234 - 1,035 record

I liked the segment ESPN did last night during the game where they showed Boone telling the players they were chosen for the All Star game and their reactions.

The Red Sox fans would love to cancel culture the Yankees history but guess what it will never happen, in fact they would be more successful in canceling their own history. Things are going well for them now but that was also the case from 1903 to 1918.

Not to mention they were the last team to integrate because of a racist owner.

Always cracks me up that Red Sox fans default response is to pick either this century or certain years when it comes to counting how many World Series count. The total counts, it always counts.

I will leave you Red Sox fans with one last thing, our franchise wasn’t stupid enough to sell the greatest player in the game to its main rival but I don’t think they were rivals until the Yankees got Ruth so they get a pass there.

I guess beating up on the Yankees last night tired the Red Sox out as Tampa is leading 5-1 after 2 but in fairness they are using Bello again who in all honesty needs a little more experience I wouldn’t doubt they don’t come back but Tampa is using their patented bullpen by committee game.

It feels like a crap shoot for 2nd - 5th place in the AL East this year. The final positions might not shake down until the final week of the season.

Would you want to face Boston in the playoffs or avoid them altogether.

I'm not afraid of the Yankees chances against anyone in the playoffs except Houston.

I just think after facing Boston unless it’s a short series it will take a lot out of them. If the Yankees get another left handed bat I wouldn’t fear Houston either. Boone will also manage differently in the playoffs or we can hope he does.

Tomorrow is Cole on the mound, for once I would like to see him step up and give them the performance they are paying him for.

They keep saying when they are healthy but I don’t think they ever will be. Sucks to split with the Yankees and then lose to a Tampa team that got swept by the Reds.

What are the thoughts on a reunion with David Robertson? I would expect the Cubs to shop him hard, and we really need more depth in the bullpen. Chapman is struggling to get anyone out, so we really need that second lock down arm with Holmes.

Also, I saw the report on Michael Taylor of the Royals also being a target, and if he is a cheaper get than Benintendi I would be on board. Beni is the kind of guy who would want to start daily, where Taylor is probably more ok as a rotational guy.

I just want pitching, pitching and more pitching. Cortes and Taillon are struggling right now, Montgomery doesn't go deep into games, and at some point I expect Severino to regress and tire a bit. We just need more arms.

Noticed today that the NY Post has so little to complain about the Yankees (or Mets I guess) that they just published an attack on LaRussa instead. What an amazing season in NYC.
