I have good friends out in Buckeye, they are always telling us how hot it is even in winter when it's below zero at my house.

It can really feel like living on a different planet.

For starters, there is no Daylight Savings Time, so we're always getting confused about what time it is elsewhere in the country. Sporting event start times can be a nightmare.

When I was applying to grad schools, I applied to seven in-state schools (Texas) and seven dream schools. I had just enough money left over for a fifteenth application and asked my wife where she would want to live if she could live anywhere in the country and she said "the warmest, sunniest city in the country." Turns out that's Tempe and that's literally the only reason why I initially applied to ASU. I ended up getting accepted to a few Texas schools and Notre Dame, but ASU offered me the best stipend and research support by far. (And that was before being given the opportunity to teach History of Baseball suck it haterz ) So we moved to the desert.

The difference though is that everything in the Phoenix area is designed with extreme heat in mind. So most every sun-facing window has some kind of shielding and underground parking is common. We could probably survive 130 degrees just so long as the water continues to flow into the valley.

I suffer through 7-11 months of the year because the rest of the year is usually nice.

Did you show him ebay completed sales like half the people seem to do around here.

I swear my home care nurse is trying to make me bonkers. My monthly infusion was supposed to be tomorrow. A week ago she texted me asking to change it to Wednesday. Nice person that I am (I have her fooled ), I agreed. This morning she texts me asking to change it back.

Hope it was a great dinner and that was sweet of her. I hope you gave her a big hug!!

She had her interview last night with the membership committee at the fire house and her probationary vote is this Thursday. I'm willing to bet she gets more No votes than normal, but I'm hoping she gets in.

I don't know why, but lately I haven't been able to fall asleep. I'm usually a "head hits the pillow, I'm out" person. The last 4 or 5 days now, I just lie in bed and won't fall asleep until around 11 or so. Every morning when I get up, I'm exhausted because my body always wakes up before 6:30 on the weekends and of course 5:30 during the week to go to work.

Are cheese balls appropriate for a tea party themed wedding shower?

I'm sure glen would say that cheese balls are appropriate for any occasion.

You didn't know Arizona was in it's own time zone?

I did, but it was never pointed out in this thread until now. Usually you don't bust on things that aren't already on the forum.

I’m actually surprised Ruggy Fudd does not make his subordinates call him Dr. Astronaut Millionaire Esq.
