Saw a case of 2021 Sapphire posted on facebook... How are people able to obtain cases for an online exclusive drop where it was 2 per account?

I imagine they purchased from a distributor, who Topps directly sold a bunch of the product to.

Only 2 decent base portraits (sainz and Piastri) lowest #’ed was green /75, but at least was leclerc portrait. Saved the box

As a side note. Just at first glance the quality seems so much better this year

Got mine delivered and agree based on what I've seen. This product should grade well. Will be some big cards.

If these grade well on 21 does it give high grades on 20 a bump in price due to lack of quality control?

My order is still showing as processing. Happy to see these are finally all getting shipped out as I can see several graded cards from this set have already made its way onto the market

Received one of my boxes today. Pulled a Leclerc portrait /99… but the back is shredded. This will be my first time reaching out to topps about a damaged card. Anyone have any experience with topps and replacing f1 cards?

Yes. I did it on a 2020 Hamilton #1 Purple (Worth ~$14,000 in PSA 10 and ~$4,000 in PSA 9 so a significant card to say the least!). Everything worked out, but the downside of the process is that you will have ZERO communication from Topps. By zero communication, I mean that you will send them the card, with the accompanying materials (wrapper, box UPC code). Send it with some form of delivery confirmation because that is going to be the only way you will know that the package (notice I did not say "card") was received. From that point you are looking at a 5~6 month wait, until one day you will receive a small box with your replacement card. Topps will not respond to any email request for information relating to your replacement. They will not confirm it was received. They will not confirm that a replacement is being processed. They will not confirm when the card has been sent. You just need to have faith in the process and be prepared to wait.

I hope this helps and maybe alleviates some anxiety about the process.

Regards

How can a company function like this? They are truly the worst.

Awesome. I really appreciate the info. I know mileage may vary with this sort of thing but I’m curious if you received the same card in your instance?

You might also just receive the exact same card that you sent them with no explanation. It’s literally the worst customer service out there.

What I received was another Purple Parallel #/399, but a different number than the one I submitted. The card I received back was pretty much flawless. Topps wording of the replacement process is pretty vague, so the potential to receive a completely different parallel or even driver is a definite possibility.

From your side, I think it comes down to a question of how badly is the card damaged, and are you willing to risk whatever the card might be valued at by going through the process. In my instance, the card had a large black spot/print defect on the back that was so bad, in my eyes, it made the card essentially worthless. So even though the market value was pretty high, I did not really feel like I was risking that much, as the card I had would only bring a fraction of what a nice copy would bring.

Once again, I hope this helps. Nothing about the process is user friendly, but in the end, if it all works out and your card is replaced like for like, then all is forgiven.

Regards

Glad to hear you received the same one. Always curious how many they hold back for replacements. And since F1 is a new set, I’d be curious what theyll do with the extras that aren’t needed. Or how many of the numbered cards are actually out of circulation because of this process. Purple parallel really looks nice with Lewis’ cards. Congrats on the hit btw.

My biggest concern is receiving a different driver. I’ve been weighing the risks of sending it but ultimately I think this one is damaged enough to make it worth the risk. (Pic below)

Agree the process seems like a mess when you consider that many of the cards being sent in for replacement will likely be higher end 5 digit cards. I guess I can see why they don’t open up lines for communication along the way. Lowers their risk that some cs rep makes a false claim or promise about their replacement. But would be nice if they had some sort of tracking process.

Thanks again for sharing your experience. Now the waiting game… maybe I’ll get something back just before the end of the season. Fingers crossed.
