Dallas is playing much better now but can't close the gap. Kind of scary with how good they're shooting the 3

Phoenix has the most complete team in the league 1 through 5. If Ayton is playing up to his abilities, they are the top title contender.

If Dallas can win more than 2 games this series, I will be impressed.

Outside of Maxi or Luka no one has more than 4 points.

Seems like that's whats happening:

Luka: 18 shots 8 Free Throws
Other 4 Starters: 13 shots 2 Free Throws

It can if Dallas plays no defense. Suns move the ball so much and get very easy shots. It can continue. Kleber shooting 83% from 3 won't continue.

Wait you’re not saying the series has to go seven games for you to be impressed…are you?

I think Dallas as currently constructed is playing with house money this series. The lack of any inside game vs. Ayton looks like it will doom them. If Dallas wins even one game this series, I would say that’s meeting expectation. I hope they do better but not really expecting it.

Brunson has to play like he did round 1 for Dallas to have a chance in this series.

I think Dallas is better than the Pelicans, but Pels had the privilege of getting Phoenix minus Book for 6 quarters. That said, I think Phoenix will get better as the postseason progresses.

I still give Dallas a chance at taking 2 games. They were the hottest team in the league the second half. But the role players have to come up big, because Phoenix as a team destroys them in talent.

Yeah I’m with you on that. I think they can win 1 or 2…if they win 3 (or 4!) I’d be super impressed. I think Brunson has played well so far in the postseason this year, as have their role players, but they’re just that: role players. Hope I’m proven wrong, but I think the team still needs to do more to get to a conference or league finals, let alone win those types of series.

I dunno…I guess it depends on what they see this year in the playoffs. I would think one of the benefits of the KP trade, along with getting rid of KP the player, was getting two albatross contacts that might be easier to work with vs. one super-albatross contract.

That's the toughest part. Ton of perennial 1st/2nd round exit teams in the west (por, utah, den, clips, lakes). Young teams like the Grizz, Wolves, and Pels now entering the conversation. Difficult conference to separate yourself.

One thing I am happy to see are the non-superteams thriving and finding a majority of their success organically through good drafting.
