Geez. No one needs that much base. I wish Topps would just cut packs down to 5 cards. Even still that would be too many.

50,000 base really isn't that much.
If soccer keeps taking off in terms of popularity we will probably get in to the hundreds of thousands per player without a blink. While we on Blowout may prize the lower print runs, there will be tons of new collectors and kids who want the lower end stuff. No different from 2022 Topps Series 1 baseball. |

which is 98% bonfire material.
These hobby boxes are apparently in some cases returning just 1 numbered card per hobby box and autos are rarer than rocking horse poop - that's absurd for anything over $100, especially when you consider Merlin Chrome were $20 a blaster at launch and every box had a numbered card, multiple refractors and a chance at autos. It was also printed on Topps ultra premium chrome stock in Italy, not paper. I get the appeal for a release like this, but it should be priced more like Panini Score, or even Opening Day Baseball. The only way soccer box prices comes back down is overproduction.
At current box prices, grading fees and everything else you aren't turning a profit in this hobby anymore. The days of having to be a reseller to be a collector are even over as you can't even do that. That ended in early 2021 when PSA grading fees went to $25 a card. When PSA grading went to $25 a card it was the nail in the coffin for the hobby for anyone not a card manufacturer, grading company, auction house or breaker. They all took a sliver of the profits and we lost the war. At this point I'm like just turn the printers on full because they aren't giving those profits back to us so might as well be cheaper boxes so I can just be a collector again. People just do not see the bigger picture with being able to affordably grade base cards and how it helps really keep the hobby thriving. They hate the backlog, they hate that they can't get cards back in a month but it's a huge part of this hobby. It effects everything when people can't re-coupe those costs to put toward high end cards. How do people not understand that? And it's not 2020 or even 2021 when people saw opportunity and soccer thrived. Look at these boards. It's a flippin ghost town. |

As a collector, I want two things:
-lower box prices -more cards per box So Topps/Fanatics, please do crank the presses....the cheaper this gets, the more likely I might actually buy some... |

Consider that this is a product which does NOT guarantee an auto in each box.....yet people are still willing to pay $150+ per box.... In baseball, this type of basic "flagship" product was $50-60 a box pre-pandemic, and even now is around $80-100 a box. |

The products line up almost identically in terms of what you get per Hobby box in terms of numbered cards and the chance at an Auto. This is where we are with the Industry. I don't like all aspects about this either, but it's not that bad. While this product may not make you tons in the way of returns right now, it sure beats paying some of the astronomical amounts for Football and Basketball that yield 10% of the box price. Look at 2022 Bowman baseball right now. Most people looking for an immediate return are going to get slaughtered at the current prices. |

$35 is a bit too much.
Just wait until Walmart get stock, not a 3rd party. BJ's should have them up soon for $25. Not sure this has been posted, but there's a box opening here from a fella in Germany. No guaranteed numbered cards, and looks like four speckles per box. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQlwZlCCzSM Last edited by YayNJ; 04-12-2022 at 04:42 PM. |

I'm sorry I never feel the need to comment but you guys know that the user K13 is just a lonely troll who just says outrageous things just to irritate you guys and get a response from you guys. Just ignore this fool and eventually he will disappear from these boards as K13, but you guys are smart he will come back with a different user name but be smart and recognize his comments under a new alias. It will drive him nuts lol. |

the only hope for good ripping value is to catch blasters of chrome products at msrp. and those will go up 50% this year from $20 to $30. Not easy to find.

Plus this years "chrome" versions look decent and they sell better than anything else you'll open. Hard signed autos too of players no one else will have. Most of the cards look good. |
