Default eBay : When to assume package is lost

Shipped from Canada 12.27.21. No tracking. $30.00 card. Seller seems honest based on feedback.

How long do I wait before asking seller for refund?

With the current state of Canada Posts international service; I would say its still way too early. Ask for a refund in March.
Between the horrible weather up there, the staff shortages, and covid ramping up, your package is probably still at the border.

I've lived in LA for almost 10 years now, but am from Canada. Recieve packages from there often, and its gotten really slow since the start of covid. In comparison to what it once was. Which was pretty slow even then, in comparison to other countries.

Does eBay have a policy for what the deadline is to request a refund for a lost package?

I believe you get up to 6 months. You said the seller has great feedback and Especially because you only purchased it about two weeks ago, I would give it another month or two.
I was just in canada for the holidays and just as I left, they were going into another lockdown, I can't imagine that would help your cause. That was on December 28th.

Ebay is 30 days from the expected delivery date.

USPS does not usually consider a domestic package missing for 21 days.

I usually wait a month. I want to get it in before that 30 days is up though, just to be on the safe side.

I just looked at my ebay purchase history. And on purchases I made back in October that I left positive feedback on. There is a Return This Item option still. I believe you have up to 6 months to make a claim for a return on an item.

With Canada, I’ve had cards arrive in week and 6 weeks. It’s just a crapshoot, but all have arrived at some point

It ddoes not mean it will go through. Have had buyers tey after 30 days and. I am able to deny it same with not received after 30 days.

Now some sellers have 60 but thats a choice after 30 days the ebay guarantee is generwlly gone even if you can still open w claim

Too early still, would give it more time. There is quite a bit of leeway room after expected delivery to file claim as mentioned above.

Im in the US and had a package mailed from Canada 12/31, has yet to arrive...still in transit, and this one has tracking so I'm following it. International shipping has been taking decently long recently.

I wait one month from shipping date, then request a refund. If the card shows up, I get the seller’s PayPal address and send them back the money.
