Stopped in Meijers and saw the most cards I've seen in a long time. Blasters of Update, HHN, Archives, and Donruss.

Optic b ball has been done, anybody seeing Chronicles NBA out there yet? Mosaic maybe this week?
I haven’t caught anything in store since Select b ball, was hoping to scoop some retail b ball before Christmas for the kiddos. Sounds like Flux will be the last retail b ball product for the year, wonder if we do t see it til January? |

I'm not messing with chronic this year .. would be really happy if I find some mosaic to rip next week.
My Walmarts is getting so much product right now... It's all the less desirable sets but still awesome to see

chronicles is junk......its only pink parallels and TONS of base. and then like one subset with parallels /199 and one subset of Auto but its panini retail so good luck pulling autos of anyone decent
in years past id buy it all up when found without a second thought, but when you realize how little value there is, just have to wise up |

Those Zions were all $20+ at one point. No one cares now because nothing sells. Lamelo optic is not even $20 now so chronicles will be all trash even the numbered cards sell like crap. You can't grade it so its pointless. |

Probably because there are logos in this other stuff and no need to offer a lot more than that. If they didn't juice up Chronicles baseball, not sure anyone would buy (I'm not buying regardless myself).

you can certainly tell the true collectors from the flippers.
i dont think there is one sports card product out or coming out that all the flippers will be happy with. Why? because the flip game has come and gone. This is great for the collectors. We can actually find and buy product from the shelves. Or even if we cant, we can buy it for about a 10% mark up from retail prices, like Optic basketball. Mosaic will be the same. If Optic is barely selling over retail price, then Mosaic will sell for even less. They call everything trash if they cant make money off it. Panini and walmart and target raising the prices about 20% was great for the collectors. Weeds the flippers out. Go read all the message boards.....its the same thing----every new product is trash. Why? because they cant flip the unopened and they cant make money off the singles. Let them all go back to flipping sneakers out of their mom's basement. Back in the day (3 years ago) people would buy cards for fun and buy wax to open and maybe hold for long term. There were very few products, if any, that you could buy off the shelf and then re-sell for a profit. The hobby thrived back then without the flippers. Unopened hobby and retail prices coming back down to earth is a good thing for the collectors, not for the flippers. In about 1-2 more years if not already, most of the newbies will have moved on to the next perceived hot thing. |

Last year, you would buy all 60 boxes of chronicles at your local walmart if you walked in to a stock like that. Why? Because the aftermarket value was significantly higher than the retail price. You were only buying to flip or because you thought they were "worth" more than you were buying them for. You werent buying 60 boxes for your collection or to open. But now, because you see the aftermarket value and it is not much higher, you dont buy those 60 boxes. What changed other than the aftermarket value? In 2018, before the flippers, you could find as much prizm basketball as you wanted on the shelves. It was meant to stay on the shelves for a few weeks. MJ holdings would ship 60 chronicles hangers to a store so that 20 different collectors could buy 2-3 boxes over the course of a week. Not so one guy would go buy all 60 boxes and then re-sell them. They shipped enough inventory to last for a week or two, not for one minute. Sadly, this clearing the shelf mania caused even collectors to resort to clearing the shelves because they never knew when and if they would find product, so if they ran into a stock they would buy it all for fear of never seeing it again or having to pay a big mark up from a flipper. Just a few years ago, a collector could walk into a walmart or target and buy 3 blasters of Prizm basketball, go home, open them...come back a few days later or the next week and buy some more. They were generally still on the shelves. There wasnt a need to buy all 15 boxes at once. You could do it over time. We are slowly returning to that again. It is happening first and now with the lower tier products, then it will happen to the premium products like Prizm. |

No one would bother with retail if hobby was back to normal prices.
No one buys hockey retail because hobby is reasonable. No one should buy baseball retail because hobby is still reasonable for most part. If basketball/football hobby boxes were $100-$200 no one would give a crap about retail even as a collector. |

I disagree with the Prizm Basketball part at least down here..starting with 2017-18 prizm basketball people would clear out the shelves..it was easy to find relative to today but it wasn't a product that would stay on the shelves for more than a day. 2019-20 was relatively easy to find..remembering leaving tons of it..but it would still be bought up |

Fanatics will not know what him them in a few years.
Paying 10x for the license meanwhile demand goes down 90%.

what will look better on my desk, sealed illusions retail box or stack of illusions cards?
Last time I ripped an illusions product it was big fan nothing. I'm leaning towards the former. |
