I think what frustrates people, or atleast me, is the heavy promotion of the bonuses and big hits/cases.

I believe we have heard of 1 case so far? Looking at the 2019 thread, the bonuses seem to be more prevalent.

I mean listen, this is a great way for Blowout to print money by moving junk that people aren't really looking to buy. The value is there on most, so bottom line ya can't really bitch.

Going forward, I think the MegaMix brand takes a bit. It's proven as a retail dumping ground and I don't see people lining up for that. 2019 wasn't as bad, and was far cheaper. Times have changed, I get it.

Going forward, even putting something in like a 2021 Topps Series 2 hobby box would have helped Blowout please people a bit more. They have a ton of it, it's heavily.printed and not expensive. But...It's more advantageous to toss in on-demand nonsense. They weren't looking to please here, they wanted to move high margin junk in a mystery box.

I don't think it's surprising, not malicious, just not what most had hoped for. This will be a long read for those to take in when debating buying in 2022. I think a slower market, high price, and poor overall content will hurt the sales of future versions.

No one is forcing anyone to buy them.. OBVIOUSLY the people aren't really looking to buy is false because you all bought it.. the only people to blame is you all for allowing blowout to do this and you all buy it right up!

Only way I would consider it is if it’s guaranteed that no box will have all retail. Even then I’m not sure I would buy again.

This is where I'm at. I bought this hoping to get a decent hobby box that I could open. I did great, got probably $1k of retail products when all is said and done. Still, I'm going to sell it all since it's not retail I wanted to keep or open.

I'm not complaining about making money, I'm just disappointed that a lot of people, including myself, got all retail that's probably not worth opening and instead, is better off just selling.

Oh well, I'll probably use the funds to buy a box of UFC Select or something.

Listen, I think everyone understands that they won’t be getting boxes filled to the brim with hobby. However, when 80-90% of the contents are retail junk that has likely been sitting on the BO shelves for months, if not years, then that’s where I get kind of pissy. For $250 Sure. $500? No thanks.

I love Blowout, but they should have been more upfront about this being primarily a retail centered product. Plain and simple and hopefully a learning experience for both us the customers and them as well.

To me the majority of it is all the typical stuff they've had when they used to have black friday sales year after year. The super good hobby stuff was going to be few and far between. If you hit hobby you're likely hitting 2014 select.
2015 chrome football etc..stuff they tried to give away in past years. Even some of the high end hits are terrible products that they have tons of like immaculate multisport or 2016 immaculate basketball. This is just a inventory dump like Black Friday was. Now luckily you could probably resell what you want and either break even and come close to it...but I never thought there would be much current hobby in these

If the price was $200 in 2019, and now $500 in 2021, there is likely to be an expectation that there would be more "quality" included. While the dollar "value" might be there, the increase may not necessarily match.

If they stayed at $200 and included fewer items, I don't believe there would be the same disappointment. Or, if they were even hobby packs of higher priced items instead of dumping blasters or mega box, people would have been more encouraged.

Bingo! People would be less upset if the price was $200 but they included similar products, just fewer per box. Instead, they increase the price to $500 and give you more quantity of lesser product. Sure, the market has increased immensely since 2019, but they could still make something work.

So was the Gold Chrome Mookie from the 14 Update Mega Box? And if so, are you seriously complaining that you didn't get a hobby box but instead got either the RD ($400ish) or the RC ($2Kish)?

...that would be fine as well...at $200 vs. $500 people are paying now.

As mentioned above, a 2021 Topps series 2 hobby box vs. Trevor Lawrence box would have gone a long way. The “value” according to the website of the hobby box is less, but I would have preferred it. A 2021 stadium club hobby box would have provided more quality to me than several boxes thrown it that have a higher “value” on the website
