So where was Universal Music ranked on your list?

Hour late on the news since making dinner so have to digest it (like my dinner). I see the initial reaction was a ~10% drop with some recovery since.

Initial take: seems fairly valued, just not an area of interest for me.

How bad is a "death cross" for a stock?

I don’t think this is crazy at all. Tesla is not going to be successful as a car mfg. companies like Ford and GM are already putting out EVs and they have the trifecta of brand power, mfg capacity, and established supply chains.

If I were Tesla I’d be scrapping the entire idea of manufacturing the cars themselves and focus on innovating with battery tech and licensing the semi autonomous software where they have huge advantages over the rest of the market

I trimmed 20% yesterday. Going to ride the rest for a while. Thanks for the suggestion.

Added to my DMYI position today (IONQ spac). It’s been inching above the $10 level so hopefully it will get a spike once merger completes.

I also added back into GENI. I’ve done really well trading this one this year (as GENI and as it’s spac ticker DMYD) so thought I’d dip back into it now that it is back in the low $20’s.

Sold off my APPH for a 6% gain in 4 days. Bought back into COIN at $228.47… plan to sell if/when it crosses its dpo price of $250.

I agree, autonomous is key here. Tesla isn’t going to stop making the cars though. Whoever nails the autonomous car first will get a huge bump, but the thing is they’ll all have it in due time. Ford and GM are both working with Google, and I’m sure other companies are doing the same. It’s going to happen, and all are gonna have it.

I’m not an engineer or a car guy, but from the people I’ve talked to these EVs will be just like computers needing updates and software updates. There’s gonna be some great subscription revenue for the auto makers. Now I think this will take some time for the companies to really make money from this but it’s coming.

It’s a bit of a lagging indicator IMO. I mean by the time the golden cross happens the stock has usually broken out anyway.

I pay much more attention to the golden/death cross in shorter 1H,4H time frames. I’ve found that is a better indication of short term momentum.

It’s fundamentally a much much harder problem than the car companies (well, Tesla anyway) would have you believe. We’re not getting JohnnyCab any time soon.

My moves for this coming week:

Sell 1/21/22 Puts on PFMT @ $2.5 for $0.25. Collect 10% return on premium.

Use the premium and buy shares.

I'm still learning, and I've got the "buy high, sell low" mastered

I don't know how to check shirt interest and the float and all the other buzzwords floating around

I do look at everything I can on fidelity and Robinhood and what I can find on Google.

So I noticed that Rolls Royce (rycey) has a 12.75b market cap and is trading around 1.50 per share

AMC has a 14.97b cap and was trading in the 9-12 dollar range before last week.

I know it has something to do with AMC being shorted for the spike, but prior to.

I've looked at a few others and it seems like stocks with 10-15 billion market cap tend to trade around 6-14 bucks, on average.

Why does rycey not follow suit? Is there something I need to look for that would explain it?

Market cap and stock price don’t really have any correlation between companies. The market cap is determined by the shares outstanding multiplied by the the share price. Don’t buy a stock because the share price is low. Chipotle has around a 40B market cap and a $1,300 share price. They just simple have less shares.

Hope that makes sense.

As for checking the short interest, checkout Finviz.com.

Hope that helped.

Josh has you covered with his answer.

Market cap is simply outstanding shares times current share price.

Market cap and stock price are two very bad criteria to use to choose a stock since they are market-based.
