Super sweet hit by Ronald there.
I'll take it. That makes up for one of the bullets he's hit that found a glove. |

Also what they said about Griffey and ARod. Stanton played a total of 41 games between 2019 & 2020. He also started his career later than Acuna. I don’t think it’s a great comparison.

They actually both came up at age 20 and played 100+ games in their age 20 season. If the season hadn't been shortened last year then Ronnie would be about 10-15 HRs ahead of where Stanton through their age 22 seasons most likely but it would still be close. Injuries have been a problem for Stanton obviously otherwise he would without doubt be on the verge of the 500 HR club. Injuries are unpredictable so we have no idea how they will affect Acuna moving forward. I would argue that Stanton's build has contributed heavily to his injury problems and that is not a problem that Acuna will face.

I agree. Stanton has brought this on himself with too much muscle and too many soft tissue injuries. I would feel far more comfortable betting on Acuna's health, year in and year out

Stanton is exactly what happens when you spend too much time in the weight room. He's 6'6 245. Acuna is 6'0 205.

Big and tall position players seem to have problems staying health -- both Stanton and Judge, for example. Mark McGwire started breaking down in the early 90s before he reportedly started juicing. Dave Winfield stayed healthy, though. |

I remember years ago watching a report on Stanton discussing and doing a training regime tailored for the outfield position -- more cardio work. I think it was right after he signed his big contract with the Marlins.
