Dear Platinum Members,

It was a night full of history and excitement across the MLB yesterday evening - and we have some special moments to highlight today.

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Andrew McCutchen, a 13-year veteran and 2013 NL MVP award winner, hit his 250th career MLB home run during the Phillies/Marlins contest. "Uncle Larry" launched a 96 MPH fastball from Miami starter Trevor Rogers deep over the leftfield wall - his seventh longball of the season.

In more home run news, Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuña Jr. connected for his first career walk-off home run to send the Braves fans home happy. Tied 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth against the New York Mets, the 23-year-old led off and crushed the very first pitch he saw from reliever Jacob Barnes into the Braves bullpen beyond the outfield wall in right-center.

The highlight of the evening however should be no surprise, as it is the no-hitter thrown by New York Yankees right-hander Corey Kluber. A two-time Cy Young award winner and first-year Yankee, Kluber struck out nine while just issuing one walk. This was the first no-hitter thrown by a Yankees pitcher since David Cone tossed his perfect game back on July 18, 1999. This is the sixth no-hitter of the 2021 season and was the second one thrown in a 24-hour span (Spencer Turnbull - Det).

Got the Acuna /99.
Contemplated on Cutch relic auto too, but figured that might be something I end up letting go soon, so passed.
I really think relic autos are what defines the true essence of Topps Now though.

I somehow failed the boat test (is that guy with his kid in the swan paddle thing a boat) and so had to go for found two and by the time I got to cart it was sold out

Grabbed the /49 Acuna. Starting to develop a liking for the /49s. Still at $199 not a bad deal, imho.

This is so very true. Autos are great, but auto relics are what is great about Now. I’d be all over a Pujols auto relic tomorrow for his first HR as a Dodger.

I like the Cronenworth card. Looks like he has Han Solo's blaster in his back pocket.

I like the back of the Tatis card as well, not too keen on them cutting off the bottom of the photo though. I think this photo would have been better, with the JITB logo on the scoreboard:

Agreed. I got the first hit card...fingers crossed he stays healthy and somewhat productive but not unrealistic to think these could be his only Dodgers cards.

I'd argue that the ability to capture the moment itself in near-real time is the "it" factor for Now.

I imagine they'll eventually find a way to bring NFTs to the Now line and truly make it about capturing the moment.

But yes, I love the auto relics too. Someday I might snag an auto ball relic but I like the auto base relics I've got - my favorite is the Javy Baez bubble gum playoff homer.
