I don’t know if Topps would ever read this or anyone could rely this message via discord, but I have a perfect solution to the bot problem and some other ideas on how to really get this thing going.

Allow us collectors to get the first crack at packs by burning cards. Say like Series 2 Premium packs. Give everyone the opportunity to burn 100 commons or 50 uncommons or 20 rare to earn a max of 1 or 2 packs before they go on sale and the sneakersbois get to buy and flip them using their bots. Or make it 200 or a 100 of all the same team so it limits the amount of packs that can be crafted so there are still plenty to sell. It’s a win all around, since we still do need them to sell the packs too because we need money to come into this market.

Anyone here ever play Madden Ultimate Team? I used to spend thousands of dollars buying packs to build a team of worthless cards/players that I knew would expire at the end of the season. But it was the set building that got me hooked. The way you could start with silver cards(lowest value) and put those into a set to get a random gold card, and so on. Then you had the more specific sets that worked exactly like this Redux crafting where you need a specific players card of a specific level to get the “Master” card. It’s like if they were to take this Redux a step further and have us burn 1 of each Redux card for an even rarer card or better yet, a real card!

Imagine if Topps use that set building strategy to merge the NFT’s with their real world products. Like having a chance to burn enough cards to get a limited edition Trout auto /499 NFT and physical card to accompany the NFT like Panini does with their blockchain 1/1’s.

That’s how they could blow Top Shots out of the water because they own the licensing to make physical cards too and now you’re joining the NFT and physical card worlds into one which nobody else can do right now.

It would rain money as everyone competes to get the LE physical cards.

I actually wouldn't mind that. Still trying to figure out the right time to buy a few items with my spoils from crafting ingredient sales.

Panini is doing their first nft pack drop later this month (nba). I imagine topps is going to do something to compete. I was hoping for bowman. Bowman prospecting on the marketplace sounds fun

Anyone ever notice this image on Topps home page? Im betting there are going to be a lot of burn events beyond this Redux Set

That’s a Rare Eduardo Escobar of the Diamondbacks in the picture. I’m sure that’s just a random picture, but I think everyone is sleeping on the rare and uncommon cards right now because they are only using commons for this set

I have 3 Trout bases, thinking about selling one - it would make the other two a freeroll basically. But I can't decide if that's the kind of decision I will be kicking myself for in a year.

I think this is a good idea. I have been playing around with the golds that everyone seems to dislike whenever the prices seem too cheap to pass up.

Also, there's a rumor going around the discord for this that Topps is hiring a ton to ramp up. The long term future of this looks pretty good - there's such a massive incentive for Topps to make it a healthy & strong ecosystem. I keep imagining how huge of a company they would be if they had gotten 5% of every single sale of a Topps baseball card from the beginning.

This might be circular thinking, but I feel like demand/prices for the mini pack burn cards will be higher than normal, as people will be far more willing to use those up than the jumbo pack guys. Might be worth watching the trend instead of listing right away?
