Thankfully I was able to get in on the initial drop.
Then I sold at the top, bought some back at the bottom.
I was able to get one of the Collectors Edition but it's like out of 34 so not so unique.

here's a little tip to check out collections, there may be an easier way to do this, if there is please share but this will help you find out which cards/NFT's you're missing from certain collections and also what's available in these collections

I remember when MLB did bobblehead NFT collectibles on ETH back in 2017-18, those didn't last long, it'll be interesting to see how this does if it's legit, considering the NFT landscape now

Yeah, Topps main guy is an Advisor on the Wax board so it makes sense that the rest of their properties would go this route. Plus in one Podcast, the Podcasters mentioned MLB but the Topps guy Marc didn't say anything. Idk if they were guessing/assuming or what. This would be pretty huge.

This is a tough question because I think this sale is just a cash grab, there's no reason these big packs should be $100 a piece and then a 3 day sale uncapped for the small packs. I would feel good about buying a $100 pack if the small packs were limited as well.

The large packs are the only way to get legendary cards, so that's where the appeal is for those but at $100 a piece I won't be buying any packs but I'll be attacking the secondary market afterwards for single cards, legendary cards and mural builds

1) go for $100 ultimate pack
2) dont go for smaller 72 hour unlimited pack

the 10k pack limit is just for pre-minted. but i guarantee the final number will be something ridiculous

Thanks for sharing the collections on atomic hub. These kinds of collectibles aren't for me but I really have enjoyed perusing the art!

I tried to add some money for godzilla but moonpay refused to process my CC. I went through the onerous task of buying three Kings of Leon NFTs and yeah this has the same exact problem: super painful process with hidden fees.

But if artists are able to make more money directly from folks from this then it's great for the hobby!

you don't need WAX to buy Godzilla packs, the pack sale is going to be credit card only

but if you're looking to buy on the secondary market (singles & such) then yeah you'll need WAX.

are you in the US? Try the Simplex option in the WAX Cloud Wallet, or you can head over to Cryptolocally if you don't want to deal with an exchange

Ah, cool thanks for the help! Yeah Simplex did not work either. And now I've uploaded my driver's license to like five sites. Maybe I should have checked if Gemini (the exchange I got ETH on for the OpenSea NFTs) does WAX. But then I saw there were WAXP and WAXE and then after researching things it was like an hour of wasted time. Then I remembered ETH's gas fees which were about $80 for each NFT album (for a $50 album!) I planned to have a bunch of ETH left over and I have no ETH left over. It looks like there's a ~$23 fee just to create a Wax wallet? Yeah, idk man, I'm all for crypto but these barriers are just like "wasn't this supposed to be better than credit cards?"

Furthermore opensea only worked with metamask so I've got that on my computer and then to get a wax wallet you need scatter so I've got that on my computer and that meanst two different passphrases. Yuck.

WAXP is what you want (runs on EOS, no fees), you don't even need to bother with WAXE (the ETH token, fees are way too expensive and not even used for atomic assets)

WAXP can be bought on Bittrex. You can create an account and then go to the 'instant buy' at the top of the page, buy USDT with your credit card and bittrex has a USDT to WAX trading pair. If you never used an exchange before or processed a trade I can do a small video if you want later today

that's why I sent you the cryptocally, sometimes moonpay and simplex have liquidity issues and can't fill orders during the day, cryptolocally is a peer to peer escrow service, you can buy WAX with PayPal for example and the seller just send the wax to your cloud wallet

I know it sucks, we need WAX on Gemini or Coinbase at this point.

Yeah I really appreciate the help, please do not make a video on my account hahaha. I am wary about websites/exchanges I just heard about right now. Bittrex and cryptolocally all of them I suppose require a photo ID upload.

Last night I also found a way to go from ETH -> WAX but then read some people saying that it ended up in their metamask account and not an actual protocol/token that worked with WAX or something? If I did anything now I'd add money through gemini, wait for it to clear, withdraw to my wallet and then transfer to WAX. But I'm putting a pin in that hahaha

you're welcome. Bittrex is legit they've been around for awhile and I used them back in 2017 2018. Be careful when swapping your ETH, you can do this on changenow through the wax clould wallet but any other place I would think you're getting the wrong token because WAXP is not an ETH token. And ETH is just too pricey to swap that right now anyway, that Bittrex option I gave you above is going to be your cheapest route
