It’s ok to disagree! He also mentioned on Blake Jamieson’s livestream last week that his first two cards that Topps picked to release for him happened to be 1990 Topps but they are the only ones that are.

Liking the Pardee Trout. Surprised to see another 90 Topps. Seems like that, 82, and 71 have been popular designs for P70

It’s going to be one of those cards, like Keith Shore’s George Brett, that makes me giggle whenever I look at it. It’s just so ridiculous. And colorful and vibrant.

But, I would’ve liked more dead alien gore so that it’s easier to get the backstory without going back to his Instagram video.

I'm also not a big fan of this Pardee, but still better than almost every other card we have seen lately. He is definitely putting a lot of effort into his set.

Thanks, it does explain the rumpled "wearing a costume" appearance now.

In fact, Pardee captured that look well since that's how it looked to me without knowing the backstory.

Was there a backstory for Acuna?... because now I'm curious why Acuna is a monster and Trout isn't.

I was thinking this was going to an alternate Monster MLB league in some parallel universe.

I agree wholeheartedly that the backstory really adds to the card.

It’s awesome that he even bothered to create that little reveal video.

The more I look at it, the more I am getting a Stranger Things vibe. Which makes me like it even more.

I feel like a lot of people brought up Kirby Puckett during P2020, but there hasn't been as much chatter about him in P70. Is that because his RC is iconic and he's not? Or just because the sample size got larger?

Man, Efdot is putting in some work with P70 while his Topps 2020 weren't as good, but P70 is really nice.

As for Pardee, i'll give him this, his work is original, and the Acuna Venom was a neat idea...but the Trout...ehh.

like someone said, i think the bar was set so high because of the Acuna being so different, that the Trout doesn't meet it.

still a nice card, but i'll pass.

i honestly look forward to the next Acuna, whenver it's due to come out
