A new product but will not replace regular TC that is set to release in late July.

It could have been any design used but they chose 1952. It's not going to be an annual creation with the "Platinum Anniversary Edition" name.

I actually wish they'd opt to use something newer for such a release -- many collectors are not boomers with memories of the 1950s at all. But, that said, it's pretty iconic so they'll use it. Plus, if it's a huge hit they can rebrand the line in some way to use 1953 and up if need be.

Or, perhaps the volume of parallels and simple lineup might mean this will be an overloaded release that helps fill some retail shelves and keep people happy.

I'm pretty sure there's never been a Chrome release with a checklist this big ... so there has to be a lot of it coming.

Eh I get what you’re saying but if they released a “52” set year every year since 52 (including the original set) this would be the 70th set so I understand how they are selling it as the 70th anniversary. Of course the could have released it next year and sold it as the 70th anniversary because it was 70 years ago. Just another excuse to pump out another set lol

Yes - ten years ago for the 60th anniversary, Topps created a product called “Lineage” that used old designs and hasn’t used it since. Using it again, maybe with chrome this time, would’ve been much better...

With print runs this high there has to be 33 parallels so it isn't 1:15,000 packs for a card numbered under 100.
