Taylor was the first artist from P2020 who I decided to collect from card #1- so glad I got his whole set. It surprised me that his PR’s were so low, I thought most of his stuff was strong- he’s off to a great start with P70

Who's the guy that is doing error cards - he should do the Kaline card that isn't Kaline. It started out as a custom card anyways and then Topps doubled down on it.

I would have been far far cooler with it his lax photoshop skills if it carried over into more of the card or he hammed it up even more, put some oomph into it!

Im mostly just disappointed he didn't make a card that looks like his artshow pieces. I had got myself real excited for that. Maybe he still will, or he will go in 100 different directions. I still got some hope. But I wont be buying this Mattingly.

I feel like he must've gotten a cease and desist from Topps or something. He was making altered versions of the cards and selling them upon request from what I remember, and I've read that Topps has been cracking down on the folks doing that on ebay too. He definitely said he was going to print out each card for the people who made the cards, which was part of my appeal of signing up to do one of the cards (I did the Brett). I even reached out to the dude via PM (to see if all was well, see where he went) but he never responded. It is what it is, he's his own man and can do whatever he wants at the end of the day, but I can't say I'm not disappointed that his vision isn't coming to fruition after all of the initial talk!

I had fun painting Willie Mays for the WMH set.

My understanding was that WMH sent cards to folks on here for free? May want to clarify that before anyone makes comments about him selling the cards he created.

Although I was hoping for different, I still might purchase the Bronson Mattingly. It's funny in a weird way. Matt Taylor is an excellent artist and that is very cool he chose Canseco.

I always thought he sent those cards for free to those he thought would appreciate them, I could be wrong.

True, though if topps is shipping his cards as quickly as everyone else's he's probably already flooded with cards.

Interesting. I did the Ripken and would've loved a hard copy of it to keep. I also wanted to see everyone's final versions in one collective album or post or something (maybe there was one and I missed it).

Oh well, I still had a lot of fun messing around with it and came up with a version I thought was pretty nice. Maybe at some point during this project I'll make another card

I don't think we even saw everyone's art. I think some were emailed or messaged to him directly.

Ignore the haters! Need em though.

Also, the title of the thread should be a dead giveaway that you are about to click on some hate speech.

The hate on drawn art is one thing, but lazy photoshop is going to get you roasted, especially when some of us actually made better looking cards for free.
Fair point! Thanks for putting it in perspective.

I'm a high school teacher currently grading bad essays but trying to make constructive comments that wouldn't hurt someone's feelings. An internet message board is totally different haha.

I mean I don't tell them it's good if it isn't, but saying "this sucks" isn't constructive. I don't want them to shut down over a bad grade and just get upset; I want them to understand why so they can fix it.

You have to be kidding. haha

I find it amusing that you are upset about my only post in this thread which comes in at post 72923, in a thread titled "Worst Product since..." . I think you should expect there to be criticism in such a thread.

I have been buying each card in the set. Now I think there is one card that isn't good, so I should be allowed to say so in a thread where people are discussing this set.

You are right, though, I wouldn't say something to his face. That is called tact. I am critiquing in an online message board with other collectors. Not at his house as a guest.

I exchanged some PMs with him and there was 100% a price associated with it. He may not have advertised that publicly but it is what it is.

I would have gladly paid the cost of printing/shipping/plus a bit extra
