First time following Goldin auctions on closing date. Did Lot #178 (the BGS 9.5) close at $66,000?

Clearly people are buying the flip and not the card. No way that should be a 10. I would rather have a centered BGS 9.5/PSA 9.

At this point I'm not sure if these will bump the 9s and 8s much.

These are just getting out of hand.... in a whole new universe.

OK, follow my logic on this one: A PSA 10 Kobe Chrome Refractor just went for $450k and a BGS 9 went for $103K. I'm assuming a PSA 9 would bring around $125K so approximately 28% value of the 10 which seems to be the norm.

If a PSA 10 MJ is now $720K that would put PSA 9s at $200K. Can anyone here honestly see that happening anytime soon? I think it's more likely to hit $80-100k, but not jumping up to anywhere near $200k.

The 9 has got to easily be $150k+ card now, right?

It’ll take some time for the market to catch up, but it’s bound to happen.

I don't see why this card would be an outlier in that its 10 goes for exponentially/proportionally a lot more than its 9 and 8 counterparts. Rising tide raises all ships, right?

10's are just expanding their multiples over 9's and all the other grades. The lower grades will still go up but not at the percentages people are affixing to them as compared to 10's.

There are 3 different 9s ending tomorrow night on PWCC. The 9s on Goldin ended far before the extended bidding insanity on the 10s so it should be interesting to see what happens with them. I can't see prices shooting from $50k to over $100k overnight, but hopefully it happens in the coming weeks.

How does that work at these levels though. Psa 10 is for rich people. Ok they spend millions and the precedence is set.

Now what? Regular people are supposed to pay 200k for a 9? 80k for an 8?

Theres too many cards and not enough $ out there to cover the multiples.

I agree in theory and on paper it should make x, y, and z worth whatever but you guys are equating literal millionaires spending habits to yours and ours. It doesn't work.

That's why I used the Kobe Refractor comparison. The 28% or so rule held true with it and that's a VERY expensive card so how much of a variance is there going to be with the Fleer MJ?

Not all buyers are individuals. At these price points, there are plenty of buyers groups and alternative asset firms that are after these cards.

I can certainly see the 9's at 80K+ more but at 200K, I don't think so. At least not yet.

So a PSA 10 sold yesterday on eBay for $350K (BIN). If the seller hasn't shipped out the card yet, what are the actual odds that the buyer actually receives it now? Me, I'll take the negative. No way would I let it go for $350K after seeing it double in 24 hours after that sale lol.

It's going to take some time for me to wrap my brain around all of this. I truly believe these new record sales will raise much of the Jordan market as a whole. I wish everyone good luck on whatever you choose to do with your cards. Mine are in a safe deposit box, and right now I wish I had them in front of me so I could enjoy this even more.
