Star was able to get a photo from the the 1985 All-Star weekend, make a card and get it released before 101? Better, get a 1984 designation. That is impressive.

I collect cards that were sold in packs. that you could "rip", and find
your treasures.

I don't begrudge the folks that don't.

at the end of the day, I'm a tried and true capitalist. market forces ultimately
determine (i.e. supply and demand) pricing/prices.

hence, I really liked the earlier article linked to "five guys".

I'm buying what they're selling in re: to the "3 rookies".

I know PWCC gets quite a bit of bad publicity here...most of it warranted for sure.

The thing I LOVE about them is the Hi-Res pictures you find on their site. It makes buying 1986 Jordan RCs so easy. The detail you see just sitting at your computer is impressive. Not sure I'd even be able to see this in person without a powerful magnifying glass.

Just a few I cropped a few minutes ago.....

You get to see the resolution of the image...

The Premier banner...gotta look for the dots

Seeing the picture bleed into the yellow

Fleer logo on the back

Easily able to see the lines in the NBA Players logo

I look at it more as a card if left intact, up and until you actually
remove the sticker (interior of card) and put it up on your wall.

I kid.

I collect cards, stickers, posters, mini-posters, and that vinyl coupon thing in the early "Come Fly with Me" release. You sir have not yet begun to defile yourself. Up your game lest you lose your nerd status.

I have two copies of the Ultimate Jordan Blu Ray. Why? I just don't know.

Epson V600 scanner. One of the best purchases I've made.

You're right, gotta give it to PWCC for doing that.

You're right, gotta give it to PWCC for doing that.

in addition, pwcc gives, often, details of the card with the description.

granted, often they are the good points, but also some of the not good,
that you may not pick up easily from the pictures.

last, I like the top 30, 15, and 5%, you can agree, or not, but its more accurate than not.

compare to probstein and heritage amongst others , which lack descriptions.

full disclosure: I buy very few (maybe 5 in two years) cards from pwcc, BUT,
I fully use it as a learning tool to predict where cards will sell at.

That came out before the 101? I've got that card raw, maybe I should send it to BGS.

The timeline doesn’t add up. That story is told by self serving dealers trying to sell bags.

The picture is from the 1985 Slam Dunk contest and Star would have rushed it to the printers in two weeks. Very unlikely.

This thread in the last week is as bad as a Talen Horton

The MJ 57 will continue to rise, There will be a correction. Right now is akin to buying during the last dance. Throw in Gary V and you know.... Buy a Tiger instead!

Not even strong cards for the grade. That 8 doesn’t do much for me. Going to be wild watching the market for this card in the coming months!

Spoken like someone who was around at the time. At least around in the mid to late 90's when that story was born.

Looks like an eight went BIN at $13k? Am I wrong to think that one looks like it spent a bit too much time in the sun? New slab but old grade.

I am assuming 1985 Slam Dunk contest was held in Feb 1985. Jump to 0:50 seconds in the video below to see Jordan's dunk which is the same as the image on Star Court Kings #26. Surprised how it got the 1984 designation. If you look at the background (crowd etc) of 1985 Star Slam Dunk Supers 5 X 7 #5, you will notice that both 1984-85 Star Court Kings #26 and 1985 Star Slam Dunk Supers #5 are from the same 1985 slam dunk contest. Why did 1985 Star Slam Dunk Supers #5 not get a 1984 designation like Court Kings #26?

Try grading or cross grading 86 Fleer from PSA to BGS in the sticker world. They are absolutely tougher on the stickers than the regular cards. I've sent many PSA 9's trying to land an elusive 9.5 sticker and many times got a lesser grade. On the regular issue, I've had more success getting 9's into 9.5's + 8's into 9's but almost never on the stickers. They're really tough on surface and so many stickers are diamond cut and BGS kills the centering grade.

Thanks for the info. So its makes sense to get a 86 Fleer Sticker BGS 9 than a PSA 9 because of the low pop and a tougher grading standards by BGS on them(@Hilton)
