Chiefs offense is 1st class and it is proven not by the points they put up but when they have to close out every game.

They close out the games like champs - just suck the life out of the team that is trying to come back.

To me it comes down to the health and play of the O-line. If they get their starters back and they play good enough, KC will be fine. If the O-line doesn't get healthy and plays like they did yesterday, I could see an upset at some point, although even that would take a great game from their opponent. NO is probably the worst matchup in the NFL for them because of that D-line. Not sure the AFC has a team that matches up well with KC. A lot of good teams in the AFC but the matchup is key imo.

They need to add a little more run game to keep defenses honest during the playoffs. If they can establish the run even a little it just allows Pat to do his thing. Yesterday it was like 17 to 4 pass to run in the beginning and too many 2 and 3 and longs. Even a little screen game with consistent 4 and 5 yard pickups would be nice.

Yep, I agree with this 100%. I am hoping Andy gets Leveon incorporated in the screen game.

The biggest advantage the Chiefs have should be the bye and in addition a possible meaningless week 17 game which I am not sure what Andy would do there with PM15, Hill, Kelce, etc. I say that it maybe meaningless because I think the Steelers will get beat by the Colts Sunday. The AFC has a ton of tough outs but a lot of those teams are still going to beat the crap out of eachother week 17 and wildcard round while the good guys rest up. IE week 17 Pitt and Cleveland.

Just a gut feeling, but I think Bell is really going to turn it on. He is getting an insane opportunity heading into a contract offseason w/ CEH down I'd assume till a championship game.

I tend to disagree with you guys on the screen game, although I do agree on the run game. The screen game is great against heavy boxes and blitz heavy defenses. Against 3 and 4 man rushes, it is a recipe for disaster, which is why I think you aren't seeing any. It is just a numbers thing and any serviceable linebacking/safety group would blow up a screen game because the play would be in front of them and they would have too many numbers for the releasing lineman to expect to block.

Andy didn't even try to establish a running game in the 1H when their safetys were deep. Shitty Olineman prefer to run block over pass block any day of the week. Screen game is great against an aggressive 4 man pass rush. Every play doesn't have to be a homerun, who cares if a safety makes a play for 5-6 yard gain. At least you're keeping them honest vs putting your OL in pass pro every player against superior players.

The opponent dictates the game plan. NO is one of the best rush defenses in the league despite playing deep safeties. As I have stated, that was just a bad matchup for KC. To me, NO matches up better against KC than any team in the NFL. The fact that they went on the road and won with the backup O-line showed a lot to me. I agree it was hard seeing Mahomes get hit every other play, but they were going to have to win that game through the air imo. To your point, I think we would love to see a quicker passing game but NO was sitting on everything, in part because they had safety help over the top. It is no secret that is how to defend KC. Buffalo ran a similar defense against KC earlier this year with an inferior D-line so you saw KC continue to run the ball all game with success. I think KC does a good job of game planning for the defense they are playing.

The whole Chiefs look mediocre this season is a driven by unrealistic expectations that Mahomes should put a 50 spot on the board every game.

New flash - The Chiefs have flaws like everyone other NFL team. Patrick Mahomes is human.

Besides the 5(ish) bottom dweller teams every year - the difference between 5-11 and 11-5 comes down to 3 or 4 plays every game. Most of the "bad" teams the Chiefs are barely winning against fall into this category.

The Chiefs will be fine. They might get outplayed in the playoffs and lose. That is Football. That is why repeating as the SB champion is so tough. It's not because the Chiefs win a bunch of games against "bad" teams.

Just seeing yesterday's posts and wanted to respond.

O-line needs help......weather that be from the people who are out hurt, chipping from the RBs, keeping a TE in to help block or whatever....PM damn near got killed - WITH CAM JORDAN BEING REMOVED LATE IN THE GAME

D. Rob should never....and I mean NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER return a punt again. He is notorious for losing yards after making a catch - cant outrun people like you did in college in the NFL..everyone is just as fast as you..if not faster

WR's and DB's need to catch the freaking ball - literally 5 dropped passes in the 1h, and then 2 or 3 dropped INT's - Matheau has got to have dropped literally 5-10 easy INT's that I remember throughout his time in KC

Again in this game.....KC had the chance multiple times to close the game out with a score....and it didnt happen. A win is a win....but come on with some of the stupid play calling or just plain lack of effort (tackling late in the Saints game for TD)

Good win....REALLY looking forward to some games in KC in the playoffs - was able to get some good playoff seats and think the crowd will be ready to rock - even at the lower % capacity.

I have reached a very sad position where I can't buy anymore Mahomes because I have basically sold off everything else to buy Mahomes and when a nice Mahomes pops up that I want to buy I look at my collection and think "what should I sell" and sadly, all I see are Mahomes that I don't want to sell. It's a vicious cycle.

I'm at a stalemate until my sub from PC sports comes back, which I anticipate will be 2023. I'm down to one Lebron Rc, one Durant, 2 Luka, 1 Kobe, and a handful of Zion Prizm. Can't sell any of those because they are all going up right now too.

The humanity.

I haven't picked up a new Mahomes since July. There are several on my radar, but the cost to get them is great when you consider what I'd have to sell of.

I'm not moving LeBron for Mahomes. I would move Giannis, but it would have to be a card as equally as significant as the ones I have, and that's just not easy to find. Same logic goes for Brady.

I'd say pretty much anybody else if out the window if the right opportunity arises.

I’d move Lebron for Mahomes! But I also don’t collect basketball, am a Chiefs lifer, and only own one Lebron.
