So Washington and Michigan State were bringing in big money? I’d argue TAMU being in the gigantic Texas market would be a bigger draw than either of those two.

If ND is in, they’ll be no better than 4. So after losing by 4+ scores to Clemson they’re gonna lose by 4+ scores to Bama.

Give Jimbo the shot to prove he’s turned his program around.

2020 dude.

And if you think TAMU ratings would be higher than Ohio State? You’re a legitimately insane person

Did you even read my post?

They can get away with anything this year... including ratings and money

Because 2020

Shades of 2017 with Alabama getting in despite not playing in their championship game.

They played today because it was a makeup of a game cancelled due to Covid it wasn’t a game added to their schedule.

The difference between this year and when Alabama made it without playing in their conference championship is that they had 1 loss and the team they were going head to head against had 2.

When comparing A&M to ND they both have one loss ND has arguably the better win - its hard to quantify Clemson w/out Lawrence vs 2 Loss Florida and NDs loss came in the game that was added to their schedule because they played so well.

Yep.

The same thing all the time.

9.3 Rush yards PER attempt. Just getting obliterated on the ground.

I learned a couple years ago to not put much stock into a great Notre Dame start.... I'd rather see another team in the playoff... If Clemson or Alabama play the typical ND schedule... They'd go undefeated with average win margin of 70.

Alabama vs TAMU had 4.76 million viewers

Alabama vs Ole Miss had 4.88

TAMU is not a draw

I do believe that Notre Dame has played their way directly onto the bubble. All they had to do was stay semi-competitive.

Nah they have the best win still, no matter who the QB was.

Agreed

I’m still predicting them because of what I said above (eyeballs on TV)

As the CFP can literally do whatever then want this year. It’s a free for all.

True, but it's not as clear cut as it was four hours ago.

They will have more discussion but it won't matter.

TAMU is not a draw

On a regular college football Saturday where people had a choice. What makes you think people are going to want to watch a ND team that just got demolished more than a TAMU team that has reeled off seven straight wins?

Because I live in the real world?

Notre Dame (and I legitimately hate them) are one of the Top 5 eyeball draws in College Football

It’s a simple fact

Size of the state is totally irrelevant and you know this... or Alabama wouldn’t have their shares

Does California watch Football? Nope.

Alabama population is the same amount of people that watched the damn TAMU game... so maybe you got a million in Texas for the one million in Alabama that don’t care?

I mean that game was the 15th most watched game this season, but regardless. It doesn’t matter who Alabama plays because the game will get views because it’s Alabama.

Hell maybe they’d tune in just to see how badly the Irish would lose?

Sucks that it goes by viewership and not football. Oh well. Clemson v Bama 5 here we come.

Ohio State vs Nebraska (who is horrific) did like 6.5 million

Kind of a big gap

I’m right. You are wrong.

The size of Texas is a horrible argument and you knew it from the get.

They should say if one of the starting QBs of the 4 playoff teams is ruled out because of covid, the #5 team takes that team's place.

I am pumped about CJ Stroud and Jack Miller going forward as freshman

If Justin Fields can’t play (regardless of the egg he laid today)

Just pull Ohio State out

I am so glad they are going to decide it in a boardroom and not on the field!! I put $500 down on the CFP Chairman's tie being powder blue at -230.

Go old people in suits!!

Alabama/ND
Clemson/OSU

Easy enough. I imagine neither of those to be especially close.
