I just want to point out that I don't hate anyone in this thread. Not even UClakers or Alverez or Heel. Even though you have all called me names and threatened my way of life repeatedly lol. I would gladly grab a beer and shoot the $!tt with any of you in person. I am sure we would all have more common ground than many think and could have a civil discussion even though we don't agree on many of these topics. I hope the debate tonight is civil and things can calm down a bit in here. Maybe then we can get back to a civil discussion.

I'm a liberal atheist living in Alabama. If I couldn't find common ground with people with the opposite beliefs, I would have no friends or social life.

I respect this post more than I have respected any other person on this thread...you are a true gentlemen and my apologies if I truly threatened your life. We are all human and are allowed to express our opinions and beliefs.

I will be called crazy 100+times over...but just know that trump has brought out the evil out in this counrty and he has brought it out in me as well. And I refuse to support it any longer.

If you are a good person, and you meet up with a good person, you will find common ground 100% of the time. It's harder to find in some than others but when you've lived 20+ years on this earth, you have thousands of experiences that will almost always match up with others in some way.

Look for it and it's there. Look for something else, and you'll probably find that too.

I appreciate that. I really do. And I really do believe we are generally all good people in here and could find common ground in different circumstances. I know many in here are very passionate about these topics and that comes through in their posts. The added stresses of covid definitely do not help. I have found myself being more testy in every day life and less optimistic overall. Even though I am still working and have been lucky enough to live in an area not dealing with constant shut downs. Hopefully after this election and with vaccine or effective treatme options for covid we can all get back to some form of normalcy.
