Target employee was stocking the cards around noon when I got there. Just put some Chrome up. Another guy got some of that and I took the rest. She had a ton of boxes because the Vendor hadn't been by to stock a while so she was stocking. Put out Chrome Prestige (no megas) Optic baseball, a little bit of Diamond Kings, asked if she had more in the back. She was leaving but had another lady help me. Lady came out with 3 Blasters and 3 Hangers of Chronicles! I'll take it!

I actually did take a picture of the bags in the car to send to a friend who has dealt with the sleazy behavior at this location before. Got a good chuckle out of it.

And as for being against "policy", Excell reps are not Target Employees, so complaints would have to be made directly to Excell Marketing to gain any traction, which I most likely will follow through with. Probably will fall on deaf ears, but who knows.

Long and short of it is any hot product has very little shelf time as it is either being backdoored, not put on shelf at all or is gobbled up within minutes of stocking.

Target website lists Mega's as sold out now without being able to enable notification. Blaster shows sold out with ability to enable notification. Curious if anybody got a hit online? I've been tracking the website since the page was soft go-live when it kept rerouting to the error page about a week ago.

So, I was out early this morning and hit Walmart and Target....absolutely bare shelves except for two mega boxes of Donruss Optic baseball. I went back to Target to pick up some things for a birthday party tonight and asked someone at customer service if they had any basketball cards in the back. He then proceeded to call to the back and ask if there were any Excell boxes back there. He said he would go look and asked how many I wanted if they had any. I played dumb and said "10?" He came back with a mega and blaster box and 8 wax packs of Chronicles (10....which I thought was a little interesting). Either way, I was happy, but I picked up on a few things.

I think the employees are holding back some stuff for customers who really want to have a chance at it and those that are willing to ask. The guy who helped me seemed a little annoyed at the same people who come in and clean things out on the regular.

Question on Panini replacements - I'm buying singles online as there's no way I'm finding wax of this myself but got a couple cards i'd like to send in for replacement. However, I have no wrapper or receipt to send in with the card. The wrapper I can just buy a reseller box and keep a wrapper but would panini take an eBay receipt for the box I buy?

technically you can't do that, the replacements are for cards that came out of the pack wrong. when you're buying off ebay the damage could have come from the guy who opened the cards mishandling them, or this card being bought and resold 4 times over already.

funny that you're the knucklehead who was arguing that WM and Target don't and shouldn't care about CSAT, and now trying to abuse a CSAT service yourself.

I couldn't agree more. It definitely sucks but if their are not limits on product. Then if one person clears everything out, so be it. That's the rules to the game now. I live in a town of 26,000 people and have never had any problem getting anything at the WalMart here. Of course, that is until this year lol. My WalMart stocks every Friday. The problem is, sometimes they stock at around 9 AM and other day's they may stock the cards around noon or 1. I showed up a noon last Friday just to see if Chronicles had been stocked. It hadn't but Topps Chrome baseball had been stocked and it was completely cleared out. This is the first time in 7 years Topps Chrome has been cleared out the minute it was stocked. At this point I'm just happy I was able to get some prizm and some Optic. I got a ton of Donruss and Hoops because nobody was in on those at first. Once Jan and Feb hit, it was a wrap on Hoops and Donruss as well. I swear if this gets like some Sneaker releases and dudes are lining up hours before the shleves get stocked, that will be rough times. It's why I stopped buying the Jordan Retros back around 2010. It was just too much of a hassle. I started buying them again because they were no longer tough to get. God forbid I have to get out of the hobby because it becomes too difficult to find retail in the wild. Unfortunately, it feels like where things are headed for the foreseeable future.

What is with the attitude? I thought I asked a fair question. Clearly, I’m not familiar with what panini’s replacement program is for and what legitimately qualifies. Now I know so thanks

I also never said target and Walmart should ignore customer satisfaction. I think it’s bad business for them to have every store in the country set aside a couple trading card products a year behind lock and key and have employees manage that. So you disagree, fine. Nobody would be happier than me if they actually did that, but I think you’re pointing fingers at the wrong entities for why wax is hard to get. This is an abnormal time in pursuing sports cards at retail stores, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t want to enforce a nationwide policy that could be one-off. If anything, the much larger problem I’d like target and Walmart to change is returns on cards. Prices have gone up so much it’s less desirable to do, but resealing/returns is the real issue I’d want them to fix if I had to pick

Went to a Target I know usually stocks on Monday. Went around 2pm. Everything Chronicles and Topps Chrome was gone. This is a store with a strict limit 2 per customer. When the guy brings out the cart of sports cards he tells me that people were waiting in line at 9am and waited close to 2 1/2 hours for the Excell rep to show up. By the time he showed up there were probably 30 people waiting. So much for being able to get product at a store with limits. This same store 2 or 3 weeks ago I got Bowman Mega boxes the day after the vendor stocked. Now even with a limit of 2 it's all gone instantly.

Also I'm pretty sure they're reloading on Targets website, its just that bots are buying it up so fast there isn't a chance for the in stock alert to be sent out.

Yeah, bots act as site scrapers. Once they know the URL the product is on they can hit that page every couple of seconds to see if product has been loaded each time. Stock alerts aren't sent until the product is in stock and by the time you get it, minutes have passed and the bots have already checked out.

The only possible way to compete with a bot is to know what time it's going to be in stock, keep hitting refresh and have your address and payment info preloaded into the browser. It's not impossible. Just unlikely LOL.

You have to manually recheck the in-stock alert if it’s restocked then sold out. So you know the blasters haven’t been restocked.

Hobby box with 2 autos and 48 cards for $1,000 OR

or 3 Target Megas with 300 cards and maybe one auto out of the three boxes for $300 each or $900.

I dont know, unless you pull a Zion or Ja auto, in hobby box, I would take the 300 cards from the 3 Target Megas over the Hobby box every day.

Can someone defend buying the hobby box over getting 3 or maybe 4 megas for the same price.

Not that I would buy the hobby over the megas, but it has more desirable subsets (Gala, Titanium, Vanguard, Black Box, etc) and its numbered parallels.
