I know a number of reformed vegans.

I think incorporating a much higher plant based diet is great. I see no need to cut out all meat and dairy.

I sat in two waiting rooms today. In one, no one—not even the receptionist—wore a mask. In the other one, everyone—including an infant in a carrier—wore a mask.

I hated myself for all the stereotypes that immediately sprung to my mind.

In reality I didn’t know any of these people and I hate how easy it is in 2020 to know one thing about a person and assume that you know everything about them.

I went to the dentist the other day. They started charging a small fee to cover their PPE. The receptionist didn't have a mask on..

Nutritionally speaking, you're right. Ethically, though, there are legitimate reasons to become a vegan if one's personal ethics lead them in that direction.

Check your bias bruh.

Mask silence is violence. Or something to that effect.

I am completely empathetic to someone who has an ethical issue with industrialized meat products.

I do take issue with something that can’t grasp the ethics of population control with animal hunting. Without hunting there would be rampant disease and overpopulation, which would become a huge ethical concern.

Therein lies the ability to be an ethical meat eater. Also I like venison and pheasant.

Again, I am not going to go away.

Everybody needs to get along. If I lived on the same street as Jopeal, Rman, Trixstar, JeremeryNick, etc, I bet we would all get along. Political dialogue would be silenced. Anybody who showed up in distress, and needed help, would get it. We'd all drink beers as needed.

I''m going to eat a few over-easy eggs on toast, with my wife's homemade blueberry muffins.

Come on, guys. If you've never watched it, watch a YouTube of "Prairie Home Companion".

T

PS: The DMB still sucks.

Not at all. I probably thought it was a bland take and forgot to respond.
I think you called me "Mr. Wong" which was funny.

Absolutely, although it is not easy to go fully-vegan and maintain one's health long-term without proper education.

Many people could effectively transition to plant-based in a matter of weeks, if willing.

I hunt quail, Jeremy. They're overpopulated in this region and they're decimating the grub worm population.

I have a feeling you couldn’t distinguish a quail from a turkey.

I know what a turkey looks like, Sack. It has four fingers for feathers & a thumb for a head.

People don't shoot animals because they care deeply about population control, and we both know that. Ethical veganism doesn't have a hidden agenda.

Full disclosure, I am not a vegan, nor do I have a problem with hunting game for food purposes. Let's not pretend that the thrill of the hunt is not the reason 99.995% of people hunt.

Wait, so Trump was ready to roll up his sleeves and battle this thing in March but the mob left scared him into a hole to do nothing and mumble incoherently about hydroxychloroquine.

Come on, every politician is going to hear negatives about whatever they do. That’s the job. I certainly wasn’t against Trump taking the virus seriously then and still not now. He had the nations ear in March to have a more substantial response. He has had his base’s ear the entire time, and all he is yelling is LIBERATE and promising disappearing acts.

I agree the job isn’t easy and he’ll always have detractors but I can’t believe that he did a super duper awesome job and I certainly don’t understand what you’re arguing because this has been a failure by any and every measure. And I’m certainly rooting for Trump to win this battle.

99.995% seems high. Most people I know that hunt or fish do it for the food. I know people do it for sport/thrill but that’s too high.

People come to decisions in their life for different reasons. I hunt because I grew up doing it, love the outdoors and have a deep respect for game animals. Not everyone hunts for population control, but it is part of what everyone participates it. It’s necessary and has an ethical role. I know individuals that hunt solely for population and damage control around their farms and I know people that don’t give it a second thought.

Doesn’t negate the reality and necessity of it.

Don't go trying to be friends now.

Here's my olive branch, then back to the hazing.

I have close family friends who live in rural VT and have always hunted for harvest. Very compassionate people who have become mainly plant-based as they've aged.

That said, Free2131 is right that there is a culture who fetishizes hunting for sport. Eric Trump and Don Jr are two who come to mind as showing a complete lack of respect for wildlife.

I was pretty close to posting that one as well.

I still hate you though.

Also I promise not to put anything poisonous in your jerky.

And there are vegans who yell at people in the street and throw buckets of fake blood.

Not all of us do the right things for the right reasons. I would never shoot something that I wouldn’t not eat, or give to someone else.
