Default Which retired players need to start signing again?

I'm sure many of you have noticed that the names on auto checklists in products with retired players seem to be the same 35-50 guys year after year.

There is nothing wrong with pulling Frank Thomas, Jose Canseco, and Nolan Ryan autos, but it would be great to see a bit more diversity now and then.

Regardless of licensing, player agreements, and contractual issues, which retired player autos would you love to start seeing in Topps products?

Here are my picks:

1. Barry Bonds (still one of the best ever, even if he is a jerk and a cheater)

2. Orel Hershiser (The horse that led the Dodgers to the promised land in 1988)

3. Fernando Valenzuela (The horse that helped lead the Dodgers to the promised land in 1981)

4. Tim Salmon (Never a big star, but a super nice guy who was a solid contributor for years on the Angels) ***Topps finally got him to sign a bunch the last two years

5. Hideo Nomo (Nomo mania was very real for me as a Dodger fan, and he threw a no-hitter at Coors Field )

I'd like to see Chris Carpenter(and Adam Wainwright) both start signing for Topps

Bake McBride. He had cards in a couple sets in 2005 and then was in 2012 Archives but nothing since. I'm sure it's not a case of "he needs to sign more" but they need to ask him. And Garry Maddoxx. A million gold gloves and only about 2 autos. No reason they can't be in the group of names that's rotated through Fan Favorites or Archives every 2-3 years.

The OP covered him, but Hideo Nomo was the first player I thought of. I would love an auto of his.

I think Topps has been doing a pretty good job of mixing new players into the mix, given that many players don't want to sign and/or don't want to sign for what Topps is willing to pay them.

For example, Will Clark started signing for Topps in 2018, and Tim Lincecum started signing a few months ago, both of which make me quite happy given that I'm a Giants fan.

I was happy to see Will as well as Bo Jackson again lately.

How about some Wally Joyner and Ruben Sierra action since we're going 86/87 nostalgia?

First one to pop in my mind is George Brett.. unless he has been signing and I haven’t noticed.

Sheffield seems to be in literally ever product for both Panini and Topps...with all 8 teams he played for well represented.
