Yes, I even have time to complain about the same slabs of PSA/BGS centering standards over and over and over hoping someone cares. I got all day and night to do just about anything. Except Tuesday’s as FT and I have finally agreed that that’s my day for compound visits in the trailer park mansion.

Watching day by day projections can work against us. People think things are getting better so they start going out and around. More and more people do the same and all of a sudden you get a new surge of people getting sick. Then what? But then again. Maybe it just follows the "projections" and this blows over faster than we thought.

My neighborhood email listserv delivering solid evidence of how deeply the scare mongering has penetrated some people's minds.

Advance note - there is NO evidence that our local hospital has any capacity issues at the present time.

The individual quoted below, having persuaded herself (based on some questionable, incomplete statistics) that our local "attack rate" is now "worse than Seattle" offered the following reflection:

"Regardless, I think the issue is mostly hospital capacity. If [NAME OF LOCAL HOSPITAL - REDACTED] doesn't have the personnel or equipment to manage the caseload, what are the odds they can draw from other systems nearby? Despite the rapidly worsening situation in NYC (I was shocked to see photos of staff wearing garbage bags from the MNH hospital in which my children were delivered), I have periodically wondered - if my lung function starts to decay (I'm asthmatic, and one of my strong triggers is upper respiratory viral infection) - maybe my best bet is to get in the car and drive to [NAME OF NYC HOSPITAL - REDACTED]. Because even though they will be overwhelmed, they have tremendous resources to draw on, and (I'm guessing) can function better in an overwhelmed state than most hospitals, much less small regional ones." (emphasis added)

Can some of our medical community members chime in:

I grew up attending ortho cases and surgeons/PAs/nurses wore trash bags at times, especially when doing things like knee replacements where there's a lot of "fluid spray" going on.

Is there a particular reason why people are outraged over the photos of doctors and nurses wearing trash bags?
