The Jeter comparison was what I was going on when I started buying Gleyber's stuff in March '17 (nothing high end). His bat and leadership/confidence hopefully will make him the next Yankee great a la Jeter.

There's a good chance that by the end of his 2nd year Gleyber will have as many HRs as Jeter had in his first 4 seasons. And he's without a doubt a better defender.

Now he just needs to dive into the stands or come out of nowhere to catch an errant throw to save a game.

Pretty cool to see people so hyped on all these rookies. It’s entertaining.

I think a few of us will learn something about past greatness and how hard & special it is to duplicate.

Is there a thought that he won't be as loved as Jeter because he's not homegrown?

Homegrown is a big deal for Yankee fans (see Judge vs. Stanton).

Maybe- fans seem to embrace Didi and DJ just fine and they aren't 22 years old. You think in 5 years he'll still be considered a "Cubs signee"?

I bet if they win a ring...the Yankee fans will forget all about him not being home grown.

he will always be a cubs signee

but the GOAT was a Red Sox first, so it matters little

just dont see the "GT's (whatever it is, put it here) > Jeter"

Not at all, imo. He debuted professionally as a Yankee, that’s what people will remember/care about.

With the recent surge in prices, what's everyones thoughts on what his horizontal Sapphire PSA 10 will do? Saw that 2 raws went for $430+ last night.

It really is beat. I really dislike all the 2018 Chrome parallels. Saving me some money!

Rings never helped Bernie or Posada get recognition.

Gleyber won't ever be Jeter in terms of overall appeal and aura, that's for sure, but honestly, who would you rather have on your team?

O'Neill was a beloved Yankee. That won a WS with the Reds first.

Got a US200 Black coming back from PSA soon. My guess is that it grades a 9 with an outside shot at a 10. Any thoughts on value?

It might have been June. I made 100 and it hadn’t gone up in a while. Sold about $5K of cards and made a big PC purchase and went on vacation
