Default 2018-19 Milwaukee Bucks Official Thread

Figured the 2nd best team currently in the East needed a thread for their team.

What the Bucks did on the trip out west was very impressive. To beat Golden State and Denver is as hard as it gets. I went in with the mindset the Bucks would beat Portland and Los Angeles and lose to GS and Denver. Yesterday's game was more impressive than the GS game. To win on the second of a back to back in Denver makes me feel this team will be battling Toronto for the 1 one seed.

Also, when did Lopez turn into Steph Curry?

OP,

I thought I saw a Bucks thread a week ago or so. If I'm wrong, I'm glad you started one. They look so good. It's a testament to what good coaching can do...albeit, Brook Lopez was a fantastic signing and he is certainly a reason for some of their success. They look like the team to beat in the East.

I'm enjoying the case study that is Giannis card value. He has risen this year despite having a career high 4.7 TO per game and being 2/26 (7.7%) from 3pt and 66% from the free throw line. The party line of "he's only 23, the jumper will come" has to wear out soon, no? I guess the increased likelihood of rings overwhelms continual jumpshot problems.

They've also had the toughest Strength-of-Schedule so far. They could get really rolling once their schedule lets up [not that they aren't already].

I think the fact that Giannis is borderline unguardable as is overwhelms not being a good outside shooter at this point in his career. He's an absolute freak of nature that is young, works hard and his improvement every year is obvious. He's already really popular with NBA fans and collectors, but now that the Bucks finally have a good coach, are winning, and look like a legitimate contender, who knows what his cards can/will do from here.

Agree with all but one thing in the OP.

Why does everyone forget about the Celtics in the East? I love watching the Bucks and all, but I think we are 3rd at best in the East.

Same. I thought about this watching the game yesterday. A 15ft. jumper is worth as much as a layup or dunk. No one's been able to stop him going to the basket, why waste your time making 3's and shooting a jumper when you can just drive past them and lay it in, maybe get fouled in the process, ect.

I didn't forget about them I just feel the Bucks will finish with a better record. The Bucks/Celtics games always coming down to the wire so they could go either way. The Celtics needed to hit 24 3-Pters to beat the bucks who shot like crap the whole game. Even with that they only won by 4 and 2 mental mistakes in the final minute by Giannis. Not taking anything away the Celtics won.

Celtics, Raptors, Bucks, Sixers is the way I see the East shaking out.

I don’t have confidence in the Sixers, and the Raptors are just solid. We can look so good on certain nights, and then come back and lose to the Clippers. Love Giannis, but teams should start fouling him at the end of games. It’s brutal how bad he is at the line lately.

The key to our season thus far is Lopez, and Bud to some extent. Having a stretch 5 on the floor to open up the lane for Giannis is a massive advantage and we have done well exploiting that.

A jumper is way less effort (economy of motion), injury risk, and its more time efficient. Those dunks are cool, but I have to assume the miles will add up. He's already gotten one concussion this year, right? Defenders will play off him and the help defense will come against good teams...especially in the playoffs.

I get the logic: Lebron has made a living going to the hole, Giannis will too. I think people underestimate how often Lebron has used his jumper...and they underestimate how much better of a passer lebron is than the Freak. This was lebron in year 5 and let's not forget that he was equally unstoppable driving to the hole. Sorry for the tangent, OP. I know this was about the Bucks, not Giannis vs. Lebron comparison.

"The Milwaukee Bucks have played against every team with at least 8 wins (GSW, TOR, POR, DEN, PHI, IND) and are 5-1 in those matchups."

I was at the game and the game was over in the 1st qt. Giannis missed a triple double by 1 assist. Didn't play in the 4th qtr at all.

Thanks for making a thread. I was at the Bulls game last Friday, their second half was insane.

I'm not going to get into any debates of who is the best of the east but it should continue to be a fun season to watch.

Big difference is Brook Lopez----last year they didn't play D and got absolutely dominated in the paint

Now if they could dump Deladovas salary
