Do you see any big trades and where does Harper and Machado go to?

Apparently he hasn't decided if he's going to opt out. Said next 3 days will be interesting/fun.
He should sign with Houston. Comes back to his home State. Still has a chance to win. Strome could work his magic. Verlander/Kershaw/Cole would be sick. Probably won't happen though. I can dream though.

I think Machado is Philly bound. I hope so too. It will be easy to continue to root against him. The Phillies and their fans are horrible. I have grown to really dislike him over the last couple of weeks and would hate for my team to be in play for him.

You know it's true. Don't try to pretend it isn't.

Machado goes to whomever pays him. Harper probably also.
If Kershaw is smart, he doesn't opt out and mentors Buehler and Urias and is happy when they pitch better than him. |

My guess is after 2 years on whatever team does sign Machado wishes they didn't and shops him.

I'm hoping Brewers might be able to get Sonny Gray for cheap. Brewers pitching coach was his coach at Vandy and maybe fix him. If Brewers get him cheap enough and fix him back to Oakland time would have their front line starter they need for 2019.

Machado needs to get with a mentor and grow up.
I was watching Fox and Pedro was railing on this kid - about his previous leg kick/cleat and saying he has never had anyone to tell him to grow up and act like a professional. Teams will take notice of all his transgressions and that could potentially cost him. He is a good player, I don't disagree. But VERY immature

With all the moves the Nationals made this season, i would think there is little chance Harper re-signs with the Nationals.
As a Cubs fan I am a little indifferent on the idea of him on the team. This year he did little to justify he is worth the contract he will demand. Before the playoffs i would have wanted Machado on the Cubbies, however now i feel he would be toxic to that young core.

Why would he opt out? He would be insane. No one is giving him 120 over 4 years.

Ha ha. He doesn’t hate them 70 million dollars worth, which would be the difference in pay
If you are basing him opting out cause he hates the media and fans I think you may be very disappointed If he does opt out you will be the luckiest fan base in the world

I just read an amusing Hot Stove article. It seemed to declare that only about 5 teams should sign anyone at all, and only about 5 Free Agents were even worth signing. The team-by-team comments were that repetitive. And any player over 29 should just be taken out behind the barn, and, well, you know.

I would doubt Kershaw leaves LA at the moment. He isnt getting 35 million aav anywhere else. Machado will get paid but he shouldnt. He isnt a big enough reason for most if not all teams to get them over the top. Harper gets his butt handed to him in free agency and ends up with a face saving contract back in Washington. He will say he never wanted to leave.
