Impressive performance, shots dropped when it mattered!

Just to clarify, if anyone criticizes Russ, they're haters now?

They probably actually watch very few Thunder games and just dissect box scores and/or understand little about the game, I'd say.

What Russ is doing right now is superhuman.

This just reminds me of the big Westbrook thread last year, discussing whether or not he is a superstar.

A number of people very passionately railed against him.

I still find that quite comical.

1 - i still don't like to the guy.
2 - he had an amazing game. what he's doing for his team is something that takes superstar talent. he obviously has it to this point.
3 - he still chased durant away.
4 - it won't get you a chip, so i don't see the point in this. what happened in previous seasons will now affect his style of play/has had other superstars leave a championship team.

durant will have his fun via postseason. russ won't. it's as simple as that.

You don't see the point in this? Should he just tuck his tail and suck? Just because you don't think he's going to win doesn't mean he doesnt. What he's doing is trying to help his team win. and they're winning. The funny thing is...i've never seen Russ supporters claim he's going to win a title...its obvious this team is a 5th seed at best but more like 7-8th seed. 29 other teams arent going to win a title either..should they just stop playing too?

Criticizing Russ doesnt make you a hater...he has flaws and his style of play might not be for everyone..and i understand that. Hating is finding a way to discredit what he's doing by saying things like "its for nothing..they arent winning a title" or "durant's gonna have fun in the postseason not russ".

You sound mad.

In case anyone was wondering, the best way to make sense of this bizarre post is to look at the first point.

Durant is going to be having fun if they win a title. Anything other than that will be a disappointment and not so fun.

Winning a championship. It's more of the team that can be built around Westbrook. His talent isn't what would hold a team back from a title. I'm comfortable saying that now.

I find it odd that a point guard gets more rebounds than assists (though his supporting cast are poor), but he's performing at a superstar level, that's for sure.
I still don't like that he chases rebounds (leaving his man to do so) and he jacks up too many threes for his ability, plus the driving Durant out thing, but he's an MVP contender and they're winning games so it's hard to 'hate' on him right now.

I guess this is sort of a compliment....

Although, he doesn't have more rebounds that assists this year.

I know I'm in the minority and honestly Durant will never say the real reason he left, and I know people disagree and that's cool but although I do believe Westbrook was a part of why KD left, I think it was more not dealing with the pressure of being the main guy. In OKC, it was KD and Russ..that's it...and really Russ caught a hell of a lot more heat than KD did when they were together, but to me by choosing to go to the Warriors he went to a team where he could just be "a guy" and he could play a little bit more stress free since he doesn't have to be the guy all the time to lead a team to victory. If he's off, he can rely on Steph Klay, Draymond etc. Just my opinion.

Without a doubt. He simply took the easy road. Although I believe he's now the man in GS, he has too much backup that takes a ton of pressure off of him as a leader

Fortunately for him Lebron kind of opened up that door for him to not be known as 'that guy' to take that road first. I agree though, he looks downright horrible last year in the playoffs in the clutch (they both did, so the detractors can stop with the Westbrook was horrible, Durant was beast argument). He saw the opportunity to join a cast that would take the spotlight and pressure off him and essentially let him blend into the shadows more. I can't really knock the move, but I don't necessarily love it either.

Agree but Lebron was completely different did not already join a championship team.

He created a superteam that guaranteed him that he'd win some rings. There is no way around saying that lebron definitely did take the easy way out, and like people have said about Durant not wanting to be "the guy," lebron was in the same boat. Lebron loved that he wouldn't ever have to play 100% in the regular season again and could share the blame with other superstars. It was the same thing. Sorry if you are a lebron lover and are blind to that.

Russ putting on a clinic right now.

Just made 2 nice passes in a row. That one handed bounce pass on the break, through traffic was beauty.

Russ just toyed with them the entire game.

Minnesota is a dumpster fire this year. All ISO ball and no identity.
