Default 2016 Donruss Baseball Hot Pack

All,
I just bought 2 hot packs of Donruss baseball 2016 on Ebay. Never bought a hot pack before but decided to try it once. The seller has a good rating and said they were factory sealed. One pack said it had a Signatures Series auto and the other had a green auto. I was curious if anyone else had bought hot packs. I have read all of the techniques of pack searching to find certain cards...fanning, running your fingers along the pack, weighing with a scale, using a chrometer to measure the thickness, etc. A lot of these might work for a jersey or thicker card but for an auto, not sure. What perplexes me is how does someone know what kind of auto is in there without opening it? Just curious if anyone else has bought any hot packs and had any luck getting a decent card, or if you are used to getting "common" hits. My guess is the seller prob opened the pack maybe even just at the top (jumbo pack) and slid the cards up to see what type of auto it was. I haven't opened the pack yet but I hope there was no card substitution.

I always thought these would be great for shop owners to buy and add to their existing stock: probably would increase the shop owner's sales when people think he has a lucky shop.

I got some swampland in Florida if you think that these haven't been resealed. They 100% have been.

I refuse to buy hot packs, means someone searched through packs to make a buck. See em at Target and at Wal Mart with their scales out weighing packs. I wouldn't doubt if a lot are resealed packs, hell I saw a resealed case of National Treasures on a group break, only reason they realized it was resealed was that the goof put a 2012 into a 2013 product (or something like that), but the entire case was resealed and was undetectable until that card. With technology it is just too easy to cheat people. No one would sell a hot pack for $5-10 NOT know what was in it!

I guess one could make the argument that there are times where the auto is always in the same place in every box, or it was a product that had a hit in every pack and they know that last pack or two should have an auto in it...but those are long odds.

Dollars to donuts these are resealed.

1.) Why would a seller take a chance on selling a hot pack for 10-20 bucks when there might be a killer auto inside?

2.) When a seller starts making claims as to there not only being an auto in the pack, but they go so far as to specify what TYPE of auto...it's because they know what's inside.

Products with sticker autos they can feel. When they search the packs they can feel the raised sticker when they spread the cards. Inserts are typically in the same spot. Most packs are see through so once they find the card they can tell color/player/type etc. Or if the pack is just see through they basically search where the auto would be in the pack and look at the card numbers to see if it's an auto. And no I'm not a pack searcher.

To respond to your first point:

Because there isn't a killer auto on the inside. Just some scrub.

I actually bought one around 10 years ago and got a card that I sold for 200 out of a 10 dollars hot pack. Granted that is definitely not the norm.

Its nearly impossible to spot resealed packs when done correctly . So good job supporting scammers by buying hot packs.

I'm not doubting it, just saying these aren't all bad. But 99% of the time you will get burned.

I did this 3-4 years ago. Bought 3 hot packs of gupsy queen from different sellers. All 3 had Brett Anderson autos and one pack you could tell was resealed. Will never do it again
