How do you still not get that one is not a criminal unless they are convicted of a crime? Due process is one of the very cornerstones of our Democracy.

Please list the specific times Clinton has been convicted of a crime for my edification. Make sure these convictions occurred in our actual material world in a genuine court of law (as opposed to the those registered solely during one of your own partisan-driven fitful and angry nocturnal emissions).

This got me thinking who would have been the least qualified candidates (based on previous political experience) in history to have won the Presidency. Thinking objectively, the choices are probably, in order of election:

1. Washington - 2 1/2 months as a delegate in the Continental Congress, and Army General/Commander in Chief of the Army.
2. Lincoln - aside from a few years at the state level, just 1 term as a Congressman.
3. Grant - Commanding General of the Army.
4. Wilson - 2 years as Governor of New Jersey. Prior to that, President of Princeton.
5. Eisenhower - Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces.
6. George W. Bush - Almost 6 years as Governor of Texas. Prior to that, Owner of the Rangers.
7. Obama - aside from a few years at the state level, not quite 1 term as a Senator.

Note: I am not saying Trump is like any of those 7. Also, I am sure there are plenty of less qualified candidates who ran and lost.

What is interesting about the 7 is all of them ended up getting elected to a 2nd term.

It is interesting how 2 of the most highly regarded Presidents in our history show up as 1/2 on this list. Granted, I have no knowledge or desire to fact check this list, so I'll assume you're not trying to hide something from me But these guys all have had at the minimum multiple years of experience in a political setting (ignoring Washington because our political system wasn't created before he became President). Has Trump ever so much as ran for office on any level before now? That's why I'm curious as to if I'm reading Timmay's post I quoted above correctly. If I have interpreted it correctly, I'm very intrigued as to how he could possibly rationally support that claim, as Trump has literally no previous political experience. Obviously his businesses have done him well. But business is quite the different setting from politics

Yeah, I found it interesting. I really had no idea before I went looking and tried to be objective. It struck me how random it was. Some of these are the most revered Presidents in history and some are not very revered at all. But the fact they all managed to win a 2nd term is a strange coincidence, particularly when you figure so few have won a 2nd term.

One note, while it is true the USA didn't exist for too long before he became President, there was definitely a political system and plenty of elected positions he could have served and did actually, just not much. He just never really cared for politics.
