After reading thru most of this thread, it's easy to understand why our country is on the decline.
So much is lacking IMO.

American (and we're not alone) politics has devolved into the following conversations/debates/children yelling at each other:
"Why are you voting for Candidate von Candidate" "Cause Candidate McCandidate Face is a corrupt Washington elitist that is going to destroy America" "What are you talking about? Candidate von Candidate is the biggest hypocrite lying scumbag on the plane - they want to sell American to the Japanese!!" "Blasphemy!! I have no way to support Candidate von Candidate except to say that Candidate McCandidate Face is a complete farce and will do nothing but murder children and set old people on fire!!" Unfortunately - no one votes for anyone anymore, all they do is vote against what scares them. |

The deaths that come at the end of a long life where a person is surrounded by loved ones who will carry on their good works trouble me the least. The ones that come to people early in life who might later become something good, or even worse, those who already are good, trouble me the most. To that end, the desire is for a country, and then a world, where people don't even point guns at each other, let alone actually shoot one another with them, and where police are not so routinely put in such horrible positions in the first place. Prohibiting things is not the answer, but the blood being spilled with these weapons on a regular basis demands action at this point in the form of taxation and regulation that is wholly legal and does not at all infringe upon the 2nd Amendment. No matter what side of the fence you sit on, people on your "side" keep getting shot to death by guns that at least the first time, were legally purchased. Besides the legal gun owners who eventually use their weapons to kill, how are criminals getting them so regularly? That's what we have to find out, and it's why the gun lobby (motivated by profit and nothing else) fights tooth and nail against any study that would help to determine that. This scourge is something we all have in common, and it hangs over us, a sickness that will not go away on its own. This is a violent world, but we have the wherewithal to be better than that. Indeed the Exceptionalism-within-us espoused time and again by our Republican brothers and sisters demand it. Let's prove them right. |

I could never vote someone for President who breaks Federal law on a daily basis; the same Federal Law that the President is supposed to enforce.

Neither one of the candidates will make a big difference either way. Congress is a mess and special interests are running the show. To pass any significant legislation you need a super majority (not happening). Change starts at the Congressional level, until that happens....we are screwed.

I'm tired of seeing donald trump on the news everyday. I just don't understand who voted for him in the primary and why? Not that there were many good candidates to choose from. I think jeb might have been ok as the nominee.

What a broken system... the president is supposed to lead the country into the promise land but they program people to pick sides by having multiple parties. Once you do that you divide the very people you want to come together as a stronger nation.
They cry about debt/taxes/MONEY yet they spend millions on campaigning... those millions could easily fix many of the problems we face thrown away on billboards, commercials of he said she said banter like children , etc. It's time for something new.

I agree on the second part too, but then how would their message and beliefs get across to people? Mass media is the way to go. Maybe free airtime for all candidates on national and local news stations? In the end, someone will still pay for that. |

There is no need for huge parties, private jets, fireworks, projection screens, endless commercials, etc... IMO if you are the best candidate and you have your plans/beliefs set out in detail and yours is the best then why do you need to travel to every single state etc? The "candidates" who run against each other usually just end up pointing fingers and blaming others until they win instead of really trying to make a difference.

I would love Obama for a third term over these two nitwits.

As of this writing I am not voting for either candidate.
I cannot in good conscience vote for Mrs. Clinton. She is too entrenched and dirty I do believe that of the 2 that Trump would surround himself with better, more qualified people in his cabinet. Mrs. Clinton would just appoint more people who have never had a private sector job since they were 16.

I mourn innocent people's deaths. Violent criminals absolutely not. People who do crime need to be punished a lot of severely. You see all the time in the news of a long track record but they are still on the street. Not enough prison space for them....then build another prison. Creates more jobs building and maintaining it and helps get the trash of the street

Considering Obama had been President for 2 years, yes, I would say he was more qualified in 2010. Unless you mean 2008, the actual election year, then I would say they're about even. Actually I'd probably even give a slight edge to Trump in 2008 given some of his success and yes, I know he had some failing businesses as well.

I voted Trump, but not proudly. I'd rather have him than Hillary. It's about time we have a President that leads with his heart and not with his pockets. Not sure Trump is the best choice, but anything is better than Crooked Hillary.
I also don't see Trump as someone that you could buy, can't say the same about Hillary. |

This country, and the Republican Party, are in a really sad state when Donald Trump is the best they can do. That being said I will vote for him specifically because his name isn't Hillary.

I saw a bunch of naked women at one of the rallies.
I vote for that.

I'd like to petition the OP to be fair and include all the Presidential candidates in the poll. Gary Johnson and Bill Weld are polling over 10%. Once in the debates and they get their deserved (heck even half of their deserved media coverage), the polls are going to look 33-33-33. This election will end up with the House of Representatives electing the next President.
