Yes, this is his second year select.
are those numbered out of /10 like the prizm golds are?

do you think grade really matters all that much on cards like this? ie. would a psa 9 be worth pretty much the same as a 10?

wondering if they are viewed like 90s pmgś

Yes, /10.

Grade does seem to matter, but at the end of the day getting any copy is a big deal with so few out there. Post 2012 Prizm and Select golds are now looking like PMG reds or Championship PMGs. 2012 Prizm Golds are this era's PMG Greens...

A LeBron recently sold for $800k, while a Curry just did $650k.

This is his 1st year Select. 2012 is 1st year Prizm, though.

Ohh, that's right. They didn't do Select in football in 2012. Just basketball.

Certainly is.

I'm watching before our eyes Brady stuff follow the path of MJ stuff.

Idk! The autos still say otherwise

Jordan’s auto is a ton compared to Brady. Mentioned above earlier how Brady has cheap rookie auto cards. Any Jordan auto is a lot. Imagine if he had autos from his rookie year

Just compare the amount of Brady auto's to MJ autos.

Plus Jordan is much further along in the cycle.

Almost becoming it's own market that operates differently than anyone else.

Copies of ultra rare and PSA 10 copies of key cards just continuing to rise as they dry up into collections.

Brady is in an earlier inning of this than MJ.

how much does the average Jordan auto go for? not an ultra rare 90ś upper deck, just an average one.

i dont follow the jordan market at all

i can agree with this. Jordan has a 20 year head start on Brady.

the rising prices cannot be denied

“Much more” than brady, which is why I brought up the auto price difference

When you get a chance, check out current Jordan auto auction prices! On “average”, they’re so much more than brady.

It’s not like Jordan has any rookie ticket autos or anything to compare. But even your most basic Jordan auto is more than lots of Brady rookie autos

My best guess is if a Brady auto is $4,000….a comparable Jordan auto would be close to $10k

Does that proportion seem about right to anyone else?

So many examples to look at but I’d just say it’s rare, on average, for a Brady auto to be more. Rookie ticket exception of course

It’s because MJ stopped signing autographs period where as Brady is signing which he should stop.

Brady stopped signing rookie autos 25 years ago

You don’t see those going for a lot lol, other than contenders/championship ticket

He has signed some rookies the last few years, which I agree, he should stop doing, flooding his after market autos. That being said, his packed pulled on card autos and on card auto jersey/patch cards will continue to be great additions and investments, there just are not that many and a larger audience is starting to learn that, just took awhile.

Jordan in UNC uniform autos go for significantly less than Bulls/pro jersey.

I think that's a factor here as well, because outside of Star he has one rookie the 86' Fleer. Where as Brady's most significant autos have to be the rookies, and even aftermarket, and most of his rookie cards are college uni or senior bowl or photoshopped college.

So I think that plays into it. But Brady definitely signs more it seems like and is younger, and signing still as has been said.

Oops! I meant cards signed exclusively in 2000

After market rookie card autos are just silly lol

I think Gold Select cards from 2012 going for 90k are about a billion times more silly than the concept of an after market auto.

That's how autographs literally originated. They weren't just issued in packs, people/kids would get them from their favorite athlete.

And all the pack issued Brady autos are of a 6th rounder - as in there's like 4-5 unique cards to choose from and most of them are college uni or borderline unlicensed. You can pay the price of a new car for a Contenders Rookie Ticket, or you can have Marc Bulger haunting you on the actual front of the card for round numbers.

We've had this discussion here before. There's pros and cons to both, and it's an impossibility to verify either as being 100% true. But when you have a Fanatics Brady after-market auto for example, it's virtually guaranteed.
