In the house where the ticking very first started (and before the ticking began the first time), I was always getting sick with constant throat infections and was meant to get my tonsils out numerous times, with the surgery always cancelled due to something more urgent coming up. It got really bad at one stage and had a very high fever (and was close to being emitted to hospital) and one night I awoke up suddenly not being about to breathe with the feeling that something ice cold was down my throat. Felt this for what seemed like forever (in reality was probably 10 seconds) before the feeling suddenly stopped and I started gasping for breath. Freaking out I yelled out to my mum who came rushing in and told her. She took my temperature and I had lost the fever dramatically and had gone the opposite with a freakish low temperature. I eventually went back to sleep while mum monitored me and she took me back to the doctor the next day. The doctor was amazed that my infection had gone overnight like it had and I was perfectly fine. Never had throat issues again for the next 10 years or so! And for the scariest, we lived in a split level home (very briefly!) that had the family, kitchen areas etc on the bottom level and bedrooms on the top level. During the month or so we lived in the house we had a lot happen. I would see creepy looking faces (eerily white) gazing into my window from the outside; a blackboard leaning up against the wall fell over in the opposite direction that it would ever fall (virtually impossible way to just fall); and would hear rasp scratching coming from within my wardrobe. The worst was myself, my little sister and mum and her friend and kids were sitting outside on decking area right next to the front entry of the house (anyone would have to have walked right past where we were to get to the front door) when the door bell rung. We all looked at each other a little confused as no one had seen anyone walk past, and mum went to investigate to find our cat dead on the front doorstep with a broken neck. That was pretty much it for mum. We stayed at the friends house for a couple days cause my dad was away for the weekend. Went back to the house on Sunday to pack some things up and was upstairs when I heard what I thought was my dad calling me to come downstairs. I headed out my bedroom when my mum came out from another bedroom looking white having heard this too - my dad was still away and was not due home for another day. We rushed back into one of the bedrooms and locked the door while mum called dad to confirm he was still away - which he was. She promptly called our neighbour who was this old guy who came straight across thinking someone was in the house. Turns out no one was in the house but all the Kitchen drawers had been emptied on the ground of the Kitchen. We left the house and never came back (got movers in to pack the house up!). The old guy next door reckoned no one had ever stayed in the house longer than a month since he lived moved next door 5-years earlier. |

Really creepy stuff here. Sadly, I do not have a personal story to tell. I think my mom does though so Ill try to get her to email me it so I can post it here.
Both those stories that ekalbnz posted are creepy as can be. That first one of yours is totally weird.

There was one crazy night; a dark, dark night, when I came to the startling conclusion that the majority of people belonging to a sports card website were legally retarded. This crazy night, when I realized that all of these people were legally retarded, I got scared.

Sorry, I'm not sure if this crowd is bright enough for subtext. I think everyone posting in this thread is legally retarded.

A friend and me were attacked by a melon head while camping near Chardon, Ohio back in the early 90's. He was about 5 feet tall, had spiky teeth and tattered clothing, seemed like an older guy too. With a huge head. He chased us for a good mile. Don't think he wanted to hurt us, he just wanted off his land. He must be living in this part of the woods we were camping in. Freakiest thing ever. We went back the next day during daylight hours and found our campsite ransacked and everything pretty much missing. I guess there are few melon heads living in the woods in Geauga County.
Here is more info on them: Kirtland, Ohio | The Hideous Melon Heads Last edited by sonnyday; 10-13-2014 at 09:29 PM. |

mines not as good, but I'll throw it out there.
I was about 15 years old, my mom and dad both worked and were never home when i got home from school every day. I'm an only child so no one else was ever in the house...just me until around 530 or 6pm. The neighborhood kids always got together and played ball until dark, basketball, baseball, football...something...we were always outside playing. On this day we had decided to play baseball. So I get home and go to get my baseball and glove out of my closet and there is the glove but no ball...I always put the ball in the glove and put the glove in the closet. So I put the glove on the bed and start digging through my closet looking for the ball...couldn't find it. I get pissed off and give up because I'm wasting time and figure well someone else will have one, no big deal...go to pick up my glove and the ball is in the glove? Freaked me the hell out...I looked under the bed and all in the house thinking someone must be messing around with me but only one way in and out of my room and the door is right next to the closet I was digging in for the baseball...so I knew no one was in there but I couldn't come to terms with what had just happened. To this day I have no idea how the baseball got in the glove on my bed...and i put the glove on when i first picked it up so it's not like it could have been in there and i just missed it.

Mine is not near as freaky but I still cannot explain why it happened. I was living with my ex in a 2 bedroom condo. It was about 3AM and she got up to go to the bathroom. I am a light sleeper so it woke me up. She came back and got into bed. It was pitch black in the place as I cannot sleep with any lights on. I want to say it was January or February because we had extra blankets on the bed as the heater always said it was about 73 degrees but our bedroom never warmed up. First I hear some dishes fall in the sink. This got my attention but I thought to myself maybe a plate was just shifting or something. Then the bedroom door flew open. At this point I was pretty terrified but thought it could be the wind. Then I thought it can't be the darn wind because its winter and we don't have windows open. Finally the little touch screen on the front of my printer lit up. I put the covers over my head and fell back asleep. The next morning she asked if I had seen the door fly open and the printer turn on. I acknowledged that I had and we moved out the next month. I am usually a skeptic about these things but I have no idea what happened that night.

This kind of experience once happened to me and my girlfriend on a winter evening around 5 years ago or so. It was a typical night in the boring little town of Waterford NY, there was never anything to do and worse when you're broke, especially in the winter. I still remember the night pretty well. We had just watched a Phish dvd and were playing some video games and I started to get a bit stir crazy and wanted to switch things up. We decided to take a short walk over to Peebles Island state park which was only a few blocks away and over a small bridge, right where the Mohawk river meets the Hudson. It was much too dark to walk the nature trails at the park so we just kept walking through the main road which is an alternate back route towards North Troy. This was a very quiet area where people run during the day but there is little to no traffic at night after the park is closed. So there we are just enjoying the peaceful walk when I saw something I could not believe.... further down the trail there appeared to be a fairly large pack of dogs just roaming along! I stopped and looked closely and to my amazement they appeared to be black shadowy figures that at least resembled dogs but I could not be sure what they were, and they were clearly headed in our direction. I looked at my girlfriend who was also very disturbed by this development. Since neither of us had any interest in walking any further to meet these otherworldly beasts, we turned and booked it. Shortly afterwards the mushrooms wore off...and we were left wondering exactly what we had encountered.

You waited an entire 2 minutes for someone to legitimize your comment before having to repost? You realize 'everyone posting in this thread' includes you right? Last edited by Nicnac; 01-30-2015 at 01:12 PM. |

You guys see that footage of the supposed 'poltergeist' from Ireland? I don't know if it's real or not...

edit nm just googled it. there is nothing in that video that can't be explained with parlor tricks. The light only sways on one axis, meaning that somebody with a string off camera could just be tugging it. A lot of the "pop" scares happen just off camera, which could just be somebody throwing something, then the camera catches the reaction. The cupboard opening on it's own and the bucket at the end, both again strings. i'm not exactly sure i would trust something as legit when the person posts it and adds emojis to their post about it.

i not only saw a full bodied apparition, but it spoke to me as well. scary stuff for a 5 yr old
more recently...last night went out on my deck to take some pictures of the moon. i have a sliding screen door that has a knob that needs to be turned to lock/unlock it. i got some nice pictures and when i turned to get back in, the knob was turned locked. now, the locking mechanism is no more than a circle with a flat edge that is the unlocked position. when i shined my phone light on it, the thing was turned completely that there was no way that it could have happened accidentally when i slammed it shut. i had to call my wife to let me in the house and she was freaked out. she even had a hard time turning the knob to unlock it. i tried to reslam the door and see if it would lock on its own, the thing didn't budge. tried it from a variety of angles, nothing. my front and back doors sometimes lock themselves (not the deadbolts, just the locks on the knobs) depending on how you open/twist the knob to go out, and if you twist the knob when you close the door. not saying that's what happened to you, but that happens to me quite a bit.
