Grandal should take that and run.

Lemahieu's career away from Coors has not been very good.

How much you want to bet Grandal gets 4-5 years at $15-20 million annual salary?

I wouldn't be too surprised, but I'd be infuriated if my team pulled the trigger for that long and that much

Didn’t Martin get a deal like that and wasn’t he a few years older?

At face value it seems nuts, but he is probably going to get something like that.

Looks like Martin got 5 years/$82 million, and that was back heading into 2015. Pretty gross

Wonder how much of that and Grandal's likely deal has to do with how bad catching is league-wide. Don't get me wrong, both of their stats are fine, but neither were all that great either

I assure you if the Dodgers thought they could keep Grandal at 3 yrs/45 mil it would already be a done deal.

Dude is good and is getting paid.

Umm did you watch him in the playoffs? I didn't see much that proves your point.

He's literally ok. Not bad, definitely not great. His contract might be inflated because there's just so few decent catchers in the league, don't mistake that for him being a stud

I'm interested to see how the market for Josh Donaldson develops. He might have to take a one year "prove it" deal given his injury concerns recently.

Nationals sign Trevor Rosenthal to a 1 year deal with conditional option

Rosenthal was damn good before 2016. Hopefully he can get it back

That offer would literally be laughed at by the Marlins GM. It is going to take a haul to get Realmuto. You can't give away junk you don't want any expect to get the best catcher in the game. Nido hit .167 last year for the Mets. Smith hit .224. Cecchini was injured for half of last year. And Dunn is an average 23 year old in AA. There is no part of this that would be listened to.

Manny is gonna get more than $300M. Plus Marlins will want actual top prospects. My Braves would have to give up Riley, Pache and more just to keep them on the phone

Hmmmm....Bryce sporting a Bulls hat. A “Chicago” hat.

(BTW, who happens to own the Bulls?)

Jerry Reinsdorf who owns the White Sox.

Which means the White Sox have magically found money between the seat cushions!

The Sox payroll for 2019 as of right now is $13.3 million - Castillo, Anderson & Jones only signed. Last season they spent $71 million, in a rebuilding year. They averaged before this around $105 million. A bunch of the players they now they can resign them for peanuts yet, with the exception for Abreu, Garcia & Rodon. There’s $30 million there. The rest should be less than $3 million per player on average. They could afford Harper or Machado easily.

People are making fun of this, but you are exactly right. Harper is more likely to go to the Sox than the Cubs at this point.

Well considering the Cubs probably have about $20-40 million in payroll left to spend, you're probably right by default. But I don't know what the Cubs have to do with this

He's wearing a Bulls hat! And yall are taking that as a sign that he's signing with the White Sox? Bruh, come on. Do you know how ridiculous that is?

He might sign with the White Sox. I don't see it as all that likely, but sure, he might. But a Bulls hat is why you think he could? Really?

I want to play!

Harper was recently featured on the cover for MLB The Show 19, in which he was wearing a hoodie

The athlete best known for hoodies? Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo currently has 25541 career points, which points to a zip code in West Virginia

Randy Moss' birth state? West Virginia

Moss finished his career with the 49ers, who are owned by Jed York

Jed York -> New York

New York's biggest, most recent acquisition? Giancarlo Stanton

Giancarlo Stanton JUST SO HAPPENS to share a last name with John W. Stanton, the owner of the Mariners

Harper to the Mariners confirmed

Anthony is the most famous athlete who wears hoodies? Wow you are so out of touch.
