This is the 1/1 autograph throwback from the set.

I am unsure you can wipe an autograph off a card that easy without causing some sort of damage or without the grading card companies saying the card was altered if the autograph was removed.

Please quit saying this card was back doored without proof. This card was in the readers write section of Beckett and Clay Luraschi from Topps said that card stuck together during the signing process and thats what happened here.

Right now not nearly as much as it would have when I first started out on this adventure.

A few years back having it signed and graded I think a fair price for a BGS9 1/1 like this with the odds to pull at 1:614,088 packs would have been maybe two thousand dollars.

I cant seem to find it now and the links were deleted from the old thread, but I had found mention of one identical to the OP's on another forum right around time of release. That person had pulled it from a pack and that person stated that topps told him these versions were not intended to be in the pack. that person laughed it off and sold it on ebay.

As I recall this OP bought this card on ebay.
So effectively he is trying to get topps to "do something"
about a card that he bought on the secondary market.

There was also another thread from another forum that was verbatim to OP's long story from 1st post of previous thread,

except the previous thread neglected to mention he received a $200 Arod auto as compensation, but felt it wasnt good enough ....

I am sorry but you might be mistaken. As far as I know Topps never told anyone these cards shouldn't have been in packs and if anyone has proof Topps did say that I would be very eager to see that.

Topps did comment to Beckett (December 2005) in the readers writes section of the magazine years back and they said "During production, chrome cards have a tendency to stick together. This is what most likely happened and an unknown number of unsigned cards were accidentally inserted into packs. Any collector in possession of these cards needs to contact our customer service department so we can resolve the situation."

I did contact them and was always told to just send the card in and they would replace it which I did not feel comfortable doing without knowing what would be sent in return.

They did send me another arod autograph card which I sent back to them as I didn't feel it was a fair replacement.

Did you ever get to check to see if yours has stickers on the back?

I went to my safe deposit box yesterday and wasn't even thinking of this card till I opened the box and saw it on top.

So I remembered I promised a full scan of the card and grabbed it and brought it back home.

An autograph of arod that has the odds to pull at 1:100 is equal to an arod autograph with the odds to pull at 1:614,088 packs?

My answer would be no they would not be the same value.

Except yours isn't the one that is inserted 1:614,088 packs, that would be the superfractor 1/1 in which yours obviously is not. No 1/1 stamp and neither is it a superfractor. You have some card worth maybe $3

Without some sort of police report or confirmation from a company how can we know for sure what cards are backdoored and what cards aren't?

If and when Topps or UD or any card company finds that a card or cards they should have in inventory is missing they should file a police report.
