Fever back to garbage ball again. The first 5 minutes were great, they were running and passing and scoring. Now we get slow boring BB with no rhythm or flow and terrible layups, not to mention the terrible officiating again after it looked like it was getting better.

Fever still with a slight lead after 3 quarters, but I wouldn't be surprised if they end up losing playing like this.

CC wincing in pain, on verge of tears...hopefully she didn't re-injure/aggravate her groin issue

Uh-oh, looks like CC might have re-injured her groin. She was cooking the last few minutes (9 points, 2 assists and a rebound), but left right after a great pass holding her groin and was on the bench with a towel covering her head.

Final was Fever 85-77 and CC scored 9 of the last 11 points to break open a close game (Fever were up 2 or 3 before CC sealed the win) after scoring just 5 the rest of the game

Motion to merge with the Zion thread.

In all seriousness, it would be such a shame if her career gets derailed by injury. Hoping these are just early Steph career pains.

You know I’m not a huge WNBA guy cause I heard about All Star and saw the draft and assumed ok it’s probably like this weekend (that just passed) and there won’t be many games before so CC can rest and then play ASG which isn’t that intense either. Instead it seems like they still on full schedule and teams are playing at like Noon Eastern time lol

I will say the ASG is prob dead viewer wise if they let her get injured again before

Give her 1-2 months to recover properly. (yes I understand the implications of what I just said)

Anyone want to take Over/Under bets on CC card price 6 months from now compared to the last 2 weeks?

It's a shame she's injured again....the bigger story for me is the shooting, though. The bar is set so high right now for her that.

But if anybody really likes the sport, at least A'ja and Napheesa are balling out this year.

Heard Napheesa talking about the CBA meetings coming up and how they aren't close to an agreement right now. It's laughable for them to think they have the leverage already to threaten a lockout lol

I expect them to drop unless she gets healthy and has a good playoff run.

Her cards are already priced like she won ten championships ...

My Caitlin Clark buying experience has been a rollercoaster. I bought a little bit during the winter, but really picked it up when the season began and she got injured. I was a little picky with what I was buying, trying to stay away from college uniform, sticker autos, and high print run parallels. Based on what I have been seeing, I think her popularity off the court isn’t being properly accounted for on here. I feel like this is different than the NBA where everyone is looking at stats, playoffs and efficiency numbers. She has been hurt and hasn’t done much on the court over the last couple months, and I kept expecting to see a dip in her prices, but I’ve had to pay considerably more for everything I’ve purchased as time goes on:

Prizm Orange Ice: started buying under $100, now $150-200
Prizm Logo Parallel: started buying at $275, now $600-750
Prizm Logo Boxes: started buying around $60, now $175
Rookie Royalty Boxes: bought some at $8300, now $12,500

All of this movement has come without much excitement on the court. I’m going to keep buying the Prizm stuff that I’ve been buying whether she keeps playing or gets shut down for awhile because from what I can tell her popularity and hobby love is trumping everything else. Her fans are going to give her more time than what we’re used to giving rookies and the shooting slump doesn’t seem to worry anyone because she’s obviously playing at well less than 100%. Just my take from my buying experience.

My favorite card has become the Logo parallel. I love the lower print run and the logo is much bolder on the card than the logofractors in baseball. I am still an active buyer of the Logo boxes because they’re still the best bang for your buck on the retail side. Regular Ice blasters sell for $60ish and you can find the Ice Parallels for less than $100 still. The last several Logo parallels sold between $600-800, so even at the low end of $600 that would put the Logo boxes at $360. My only issue is I can’t seem to stop myself from opening the Logo boxes when I get them in!

If they shut her down for the rest of the season, expect her cards to be slashed in half. Isn’t that what happened to the price of Wemby cards?

Haven't paid attention to her stats until now but that's an UGLY regression.

anybody criticizing her stats from this season should just stop. it is pitiful.

She has had 3 different injuries in the last month. There is no way she can be consistent with those circumstances.

I will lump myself into the same boat with everyone else, but I agree that you can certainly tell who has some of her cards and who does not. I have some but wish I had more, and I also have Wemby cards. Clark has a fraction of the rookie cards to choose from compared to the plethora of options out there for Wemby, and I’m pretty sure Wemby cards took a little hit after his injury, but like I mentioned in my previous post, the Clark cards I keep track of have only risen so far throughout her injury woes. I’m excited to keep an eye on it, the upside potential of her popularity/skill is as high as anyone’s right now.

Also, remember CC is a vibe. I remember distinctly when the camera panned over to her and a teammate at a late-season Pacers game. She owned the moment and left me wondering, who that cool?

That alone is not a predictor of value. For one if you believe in the Wemby "generational" argument and think that CC fans are fickle (patently not the case) then you could easily weigh Wemby cards way higher.

Similarly, while the relative scarcity of Nesmith cards, probably same number printed as CC across five seasons, has probably bumped his silver PSA 10 to near $80, that alone is not enough to drive value.

Isaiah Jackson, who coach Carlisle is touting as the best all-around athlete on the Pacers, has even fewer cards, all rookie and Pacers, and his black Prizm 1/1 just sold for $400. When no one cares, no one cares.

CC officially out for tonight's game against the Liberty. Not exactly a shocker, but the announcement came pretty late. They are pulling the "day-to-day" crap like they did last time when she ended up out for 2 weeks.

I knew yesterday's game was bad, but the deluge of clips that have come out show just how bad the refs are. Boston got a full swing forearm to the face and nothing, Sophie got an elbow to the neck, no call, Sophie got a full body check knocking her out of bounds and it was called she "stepped" out of bounds no call, CC got a knee to the groin, no call. Those were just the more egregious ones, there were plenty of regular fouls not called.
Also, what the hell did the ref say that made CC just lose it? CC was jawing at the ref, like normal then the ref said something and CC froze for a split second the went absolutely ballistic and one of the coaches had to physically restrain her and pull her off the court.
CC gets mad, but I've never seen her go off on a ref like that before.

Definite regression. A bit more understandable given she has been injured though. She's still only 23, but I do think it might be time for some people to stop thinking of her on that Jordan/Lebron level and consider she might be more of a Lamelo Ball.

Paige Bueckers, however, is someone who is showing that she might become the next big thing in the WNBA. She has the personality to be one of the faces of the WNBA as well as the talent. Her rookie season has been better than Caitlin Clark's rookie season.

Her 3 point percentages are a bit misleading on the surface because of her home/away splits. She basically can't miss when she's in front of the home crowd, but can't hit the broad side of a barn when she's taken out her element.

Suffice to say she's the Drew Brees of the WNBA.
