I guess it depends what you consider mid to high end. The price of Dynasty is about $100 more of 2023 Bowman Draft Super Jumbo now and you can hit a much higher % of cards that are over 3x box price in Draft. Neither is good value FWIW.

The WBC parallel is a sweet card. I really think that series will be one of the pinnacles of the decade in sports. They had the cinderellas, super stars, quirky laughs, pump you up speeches, and the blockbuster movie ending. I still go back and watch highlights

Saw Ohtani won male athlete of the year this morning but I think he already ran out of room on his shelf for 2023.

Haha yeah I have seen him mention that was on his wishlist, I’ve been right there with him. Golds have been tough to come by for a good price. I was checking in on saved searches and couldn’t hit BIN fast enough when I saw it pop up.

Haha of course you do! That’s awesome though. Gold Refractors have become my non-RC go to in lieu of the lack of significant inserts these days. I’m still a 90’s insert kid at heart, but I’m learning to evolve.

wise move.

real gold refractors are "down" in popularity right now. i think a lot of folks are sleeping on them. The pack odds for them get worse every year, the wax costs more every year, people hoard more wax every year. and THEN, there are more and more Topps Chrome BRANDS released every year.

You really think people are trading in golds of Ohtani and/or Acuna? I have a hard time believing more than a handful of each would be traded in. $200 seems pretty meh.

yea, sadly i think there are some folks that are not too smart

even if its only a handful, thats a handful less for collectors

you add in that MAYBE 35-40 of them will ever make it out of packs (due to them making a million packs and a dozen other TC brands), its impactful

I'm excited that Ohtani will have rotation mates in 2025 that don't make every game a losing streak stopper or must-win. Allows him to be looser and fully exercise that creativity. Yamamoto being Japanese is the cherry on top. Dodgers just truly became Japan's team. Add Roki too while they're at it (not joking, for 2025).

Yamamoto/Ohtani/Sasaki/Murakami quad auto ftw! Nomo can have duals with all 4 as well in 2026ish.
