Default Baseball Cards in TV Shows & Movies

Last week, I posted this on Facebook, and thought it would be fun to hear of other baseball card sightings on tv and the movies. Beside Seinfeld, where else can baseball cards be seen?

Patriot's Day has a pretty sweet scene of Marky Mark playing with his cards he keeps under the couch

It was an awful movie, so awful I can't remember the name. But Bruce Willis had a 1952 Topps Pafko PSA 10 that he was going to use for his daughter's college and then someone stole it.

Cop movie with Stifler.

Better Call Saul, I think it's Episode 1 of season 2 has a pretty good scene.

A character who was selling pills had there house broken into was very upset that there baseball card collection was stolen. When talking to the police they even go into detail about the centering on the Mantles and Hank Aarons and maybe even the years of the cards.

The short lived Bobby Moynihan show Me, Myself, and I had an episode with a signed 86 Jordan as a major plot point. Surprised that was the first one that came to mind.

Old 80's show, Hart to Hart, had an episode where a bunch of 52 Topps were stolen. Details are fuzzy, but I remember even in 1982 the 1952s were kind of a big deal.

The actor is Mark Proksch, I recognized him from On Cinema. When he got the cards back, he dug through 4-5 row boxes of what looked like 80s-90s junk. They didn't pay much attention to detail there but Better Call Saul is most likely the best show on TV right now.

Married w/ Children when all is gathering all of his belongings to hand down to the kids and he has a Joe Nuxhall card that Jefferson folds in half and explains how they use to make boats out of them and float them down the gutter.

There was a Stephen King film from the 90s that had a kid selling his soul in exchange for a 50-something Mantle to complete his set. Someone help me here with the name??

Blast from the Past has some good vintage card scenes.

It is a fleer glossy tin. When they do the up close you can tell because the backs are blue instead of the regular yellow backs.

There was an episode of Baywatch where something happened involving baseball cards. I remember Hasselhoff giving a kid an UD Griffey at the end of the episode.

Probably thinking of "Needful Things". Lousy movie, but Bonnie Bedelia made it worth watching!

I believe that "Stand by Me" had a 1960 Yogi Berra on the wall. I remember that because the movie was set in 1959!

P.S. Just watched the scene and there was also a 1958 Mantle all-star on the wall with a thumb tack! Ouch!

Houseguest with Sinbad and Phil Hartman - early in the movie Sinbad gets a massive box of what appears to be loose packs as his latest get rich quick scheme.

Also, Modern Family, Phil is buying a card (Joe Dimaggio maybe?) for Jay and the guy has it without any sort of protective case, leading Phil to predictably bend the card in half multiple times.

In the book it was a Sandy Koufax card.
