I love GQ autos. Other than shiny, chromey cards, I think these are the best sets for autos. Yes, better than Heritage.

However, as mentioned earlier, it's horrible as a rip/flip product. Barely anyone cares about building sets of this. It probably could have appealed to set builders if they would've stayed with one standard system of SPs, variations, inserts, etc. By changing every year it's a very confusing set to track.

Yes, I was advised last fall that collecting & flipping GQ cards is not a good investment since GQ does not have a strong following....seems like A&G and Heritage are the strongest brands for vintage style cards....I personally like A&G more than Heritage

My favorite set every year...glad they will have some of the bigger rookies this year. Releasing early in the year this set usually doesn't get the rookies. The only set I build every year.

Maybe it’s a new style of cardboard pack. It’s only 11 cards. So it’s not a traditional hanger box. And if it’s listed for $7.99 on eBay then it’s not $7.99 at retail.

Pretty shallow checklist IMO, and with low end product like this, the big hits seem come only once in a case or two...
I do like the lineup relic auto and the base relic autos though, so hopefully I can resist the urge of opening boxes or joining too many breaks, and just buy the singles I want later.

Did 3 boxes and picked up someone elses junk at the shop. Autos were bad. The better players are probably sp i think. Its just too bad no one likes the variations like heritage that could help out the product with a not so steller auto lineup.

Nice cards.
The Acuna is a Player Weekend variation, and also being logo swap at the same time?

Correct. It's a variation within a variation.

The hanger boxes can be found at Target for $4.99. They advertised 2 inserts per box on the box itself. There are not two inserts per box. Some had zero. Not cool Topps.

No Tanaka cards to brutalize my wallet so I'll just be picking up a complete Yankee base set and be done with it. I really like this years look to and would loved to have some of those parallels for Tanaka. I guess he is dropping off the Yankees card love list by Topps.

These are straight garbage. I bought 10 last week when Target put them out early. I got one good card....Lourdes Gurriel Bazooka Auto /25. Very boring to open.

It's a shame Gypsy has fallen off...I remember listing at night the past 2 years, and waking up in the morning to almost nothing sold...and that was the day before release as well. The short prints being 1 every 2 boxes hurt the set collectors, imo. Plus, the 'missing nameplate', backplate, etc. variations are kinda weak....

I really like this product, but agree with most that it doesn't really have any value. I wish the pricing reflected that. I remember picking these up for $70-80 a box a few years back.

Some guy posted an awesome case break he had in the breaks forum. Love how the autos are actually on-card, which seems rare these days. They look great on the card stock.

They do look great on the card stock, 100%.....you hit a few nice autos and think you can do well selling.....then you see prices and GQ reality sets in, lol....

I'm interested to see what the Yordan and Robert Superfractor Box Toppers go for when they are pulled.

There are a ton more of this Robert Rookie than the Opening Day Stuff, but the Gypsy Queen looks a lot better and has parallels.

Heritage or Archives needs to go away
Gypsy Queen or Ginter needs to go away
Opening Day or Big League needs to go away

Okay, "mid range" if you want to call it that.
But they still don't give the box buyers much chance of getting big hits, and the collecting world in general don't seem to place much value in GQ cards.
That's my point.
